The church becomes most powerful when forgiven people forgive one another, starting the whole process of Forgiveness for people not just inside the church but also outside the church.

A forgiving church is a living testimony of the resurrection.

Growing Pains: When God Stretches His Church explores how seasons of growth—though sometimes uncomfortable—are signs of God’s gracious activity among His people. From overflowing boats and crowded rooms to tired leaders, expanding needs, and uncertain next steps, Scripture shows again and again that growth is never our achievement but God’s gift and invitation. In this series, we’ll discover how abundance calls us to stewardship, how shared ministry strengthens the body, how creative faith opens space for others, and how God equips His people with every gift needed for the mission. Ultimately, we’ll be reminded that the Church moves forward not by our strength or strategy, but by confidence in Christ, our unshakable foundation, who leads us into the future one faithful step at a time.

Join Lynn Meyer for a meaningful 7-week journey into understanding and practicing forgiveness.

Ladies, if we live near people or work with people, we need to be prepared to forgive. And as long as we have air in our lungs, we will also need to be forgiven. Forgiveness is the great leveler—we all want it, but we don’t always want to extend it. Girlfriends, let’s learn to do this well together.

Due to high interest, we’ve added an additional Thursday morning session from 9:00–11:00 AM beginning May 21. Please note that the Thursday evening session (6:00–8:00 PM) is already full.

We will be using Lysa Terkeurst’s workbook and book, Forgiving What You Can’t Forget.

Join us as we celebrate and honor Beckie Hatcher and her many years of faithful service, love, and dedication to our students and school community. Mrs. Hatcher’s passion for music, joyful spirit, and lasting impact on generations of students has been such a blessing to Timothy Lutheran School, and we are so grateful for the way she has shared her gifts with so many children over the years.

We will be celebrating her this Sunday following the 10:30 AM service with cake and fellowship.

We would also love for families to join us for an additional celebration on Monday, May 18th from 5:00–7:00 PM at Station 7. Bring the kids out for a fun, family-friendly evening of music, laughs, kids’ karaoke, and celebrating the incredible impact Mrs. Hatcher has made through her love of teaching and music.

Timothy Lutheran Church is excited to celebrate the accomplishments of our high school and college seniors with a special Senior Graduate Slideshow honoring this important milestone in their lives.

Graduation marks a season of growth, perseverance, and new beginnings, and we would love for our church family to join in recognizing the hard work and dedication of our graduates. The slideshow will be shared during worship on Sunday, May 24, giving the congregation an opportunity to celebrate and pray for our seniors as they take their next steps.

The Lutheran Urban Mission Agency Auxiliary will meet on Wednesday, May 20 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 711 Benton Boulevard, Kansas City, MO. Registration begins at 9:00 a.m. with the opening devotion at 9:30 a.m. The program speaker will be Doris Cannon, Lead Victim Advocate for Jackson County, MO. The Mission of the Month collection is personal hygiene items, underwear (all sizes) and monetary donations. Lunch will be served. Timothy’s Pairs & Spares ministry invites adults ages 55 and older to connect, laugh, and enjoy meaningful fellowship together. Whether you’re single or part of a couple, you’ll find a warm and welcoming group eager to build friendships and share life’s journey.

Pairs & Spares meets on the third Monday of each month at Pointe of Hope, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Each gathering includes a delicious meal, engaging conversation, and plenty of fun.

Please note that the church parking lot will be resealed on Monday, May 25th as part of our ongoing maintenance efforts. To prepare for this work, everyone must remove their vehicles from the parking lot immediately after church services on Sunday, May 24th.

Clearing the lot on Sunday will allow the crew to begin work promptly and ensure the resealing process goes smoothly. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we work to maintain our facilities for the safety and comfort of all who attend Timothy.

Timothy's Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) will begin collecting disposable diapers of all sizes and donate them to Happy Bottoms in an effort of helping them keep their shelves stocked. This organization, based in Kansas City, partners with social service agencies and hospitals to assure babies and toddlers from low-income families have access to clean diapers for their child's health care and comfort.  The collection will run Mother's Day through Father's Day and the congregation is welcome to make a contribution to help these little ones.  The diapers may be left in the container available in the lobby.  

As your calendars flip to May and the summer months, the Women of Hope leadership team invites Timothy's ladies to mark your calendars for a fun fellowship event again this year! The Powell Gardens Colonial Farms Music in the Gardens free concert series is back on Wednesday evenings from 6-8pm in the Courtyard. Join your sisters in Christ (and bring friends!) on June 17.

Take in the live music in a relaxed, open‑air setting while enjoying seasonal snacks and drinks available for purchase from a food truck on site.. The website (colonialfarmskc.org) indicates "seating is first-come, first-served, so come early and stay awhile" rather than signing up for the free tickets. Exploring the Nature of God

Mark your calendars and get ready for an exciting week of faith, fun, and discovery at Timothy Lutheran Church and School’s 2026 Vacation Bible School! Join us for Rainforest Falls: Exploring the Nature of God, taking place June 22–26, 2026.

VBS is open to children ages preschool through 5th grade, and it promises a week filled with engaging Bible lessons, music, crafts, games, and hands-on activities that help children discover who God is and how much He loves them—all set in a vibrant rain-forest theme.

We also invite youth and adults to be part of the excitement by serving as VBS volunteers. Any child entering 6th grade this fall is eligible to begin volunteering this summer, making VBS a great opportunity to grow in leadership while serving others.

Every baptism is a gift—God welcoming a child into His family. One way our congregation celebrates that gift is by giving a Faith Chest: a simple wooden chest that can be used as an altar and to hold a Bible, devotional books, a baptism candle, pictures, and keepsakes that help a child remember, “I am baptized into Christ.”

These chests are made with care by members of our church family, and we would love to invite more hands and hearts to help build them. If you enjoy woodworking, there is a place for you in this project.

• Build: cut, assemble and sand chests.

• Supply support: donate wood, or gift cards (a Thrivent gift card can be used) to offset costs.

• Pray: lift each baptized child and family as the chest is made and gifted.

If you’d like to help build (or support) a Faith Chest, please reach out to the church office at 816-228-5300—we’ll connect you with the materials you’ll need. You don’t have to be an expert, just be willing to help.

Thank you for helping us provide these beautiful baptismal gifts for our littlest members.

Ladies, have you ever been hurt… no, I mean really hurt by someone’s words or actions? Or have you said or done something that you replay in your mind wishing for a different outcome? As women, I think we have all experienced this. I have and I am desperate for the healing and freedom that Pastor Ryan preached about last weekend. 

You are invited to join me, Lynn Meyer, on a 7 week journey toward freedom. We will be using Lysa Terkeurst’s book and video entitled, ‘Forgiving what you can’t forget’, as our guide. Thursdays (May 21- July 1) from 6:00pm- 6:30pm come enjoy snacks and time to visit; our study will begin promptly at 6:30pm and will end promptly at 8:00pm.

You’ll find a supportive community ready to learn, ask questions, and grow together. We’ll explore the foundations of the Christian faith and the Lutheran confessions in a way that’s engaging, approachable, and easy to understand.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out on Saturday to help fill holes in the parking lot! Your time, hard work, and willingness to serve made a noticeable difference, and we are truly grateful for every helping hand.

This project was a wonderful reminder of the strength of our church family—many hands truly do make light work, and the result is a smoother, safer parking lot for all. The LWML Spring Society Meeting is happening tomorrow, May 2nd, and you’re invited to join us for a delightful afternoon of fun and fellowship. The meeting will take place from 1:00–3:00 p.m. and will feature a charming Tea Party theme.

Guests can look forward to great food, warm fellowship, and plenty of opportunities to relax and connect with one another. The afternoon will also include games and special entertainment, making it a joyful event for all who attend. The special entertainment will include Janie Wilson and her woodwind trio and a few students from Timothy Lutheran School.

Come enjoy an afternoon of laughter, conversation, and community as we celebrate spring together. We hope to see you there!

Thursday May 7th is the National Day of Prayer. Join Pastor Kendall and Pastor Ryan and the Blue Springs ministerial alliance as they gather outside City Hall in Blue Springs to pray for our city, communities, and country. Event starts at noon and will wrap up no later than 12:30pm. Please reach out to Pastor Ryan if you have any questions.

Fun Day is one of the most anticipated events of the year for our students—a full day of games, activities, and celebration to wrap up the school year, including special visits from our first responders and a fire truck finale! It’s also an important day that gives teachers uninterrupted time to complete end‑of‑year work, which means we rely heavily on volunteers. Fun Day truly takes a village, and even a small time commitment makes a big difference. Without enough volunteers, we cannot run the day as planned, so we sincerely appreciate your support!
