The Hillcrest Gala was an unforgettable evening filled with great food, outstanding music from a talented live band, and inspiring stories of lives transformed. Guests heard powerful testimonies from individuals who have successfully moved from homelessness to stable housing and renewed independence. Their journeys served as a reminder of the life-changing impact of Hillcrest's ministry and the generosity of those who support its mission. It was a wonderful celebration of hope, resilience, and the opportunity for a brighter future.

Do you have a heart for children and a few hours to spare during the week? We are currently seeking nursery volunteers for weeknight events and Sunday mornings.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and willing to provide a safe, caring environment for our little ones while parents attend church programs and small groups.

This is a wonderful opportunity to serve our church family and make a meaningful difference — even just one evening a month can help!

On Wednesday, September 9, Timothy Lutheran Church and School kicked off the first Oasis gathering of the season with a tremendous turnout of 125 attendees.

The evening brought together members of all ages for a time of fellowship, a shared meal, and spiritual growth. Participants gathered around God's Word as they explored the theme "God Calls Us" from 1 Samuel 3:1-14. Through the story of young Samuel hearing and responding to God's call, attendees were reminded of the importance of listening to the Lord and faithfully following His direction in our daily lives.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the evening a success. We look forward to many more opportunities this year to gather as a Timothy family, grow in faith, and encourage one another as we remain Rooted in Christ.

Do you enjoy reading and discussing great books with friends? Join the Book Club as we gather for fellowship, conversation, and engaging book discussions.

Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, September 17 at 6:00 p.m. at Connect 55+, 2000 NE Coronado Dr., Blue Springs, MO 64014.

Whether you're an avid reader or simply enjoy good conversation, we would love to have you join us.

The Book Club will meet on the third Thursday of each month through May 2027 (with the exception of December for Christmas). This is a wonderful opportunity to build friendships, share perspectives, and connect with others in our community.

Lutheran Women in Mission is excited to announce Mission Possible Day on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Join us on this special day to make an eternal impact through the mission grants we support. The LWML Mission Grant Goal funds mission grants from organizations serving the needs of people around the world while sharing the Gospel message.

For one day only, on September 15, help make God’s mission possible by donating toward the LWML Mission Grant Goal. Donate online at lwml.org/givingday. This week, seven new lunch tables were delivered to Timothy Lutheran Church and School, providing an important addition to our ministry and fellowship spaces.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Fall Fun Festival Committee (Timmy Burger team) for making this purchase possible. Their dedication and hard work throughout the year continue to bless our church and school community in countless ways.

These new tables will serve students during lunch, support fellowship gatherings, and provide seating for many church, school, and community events for years to come. This investment reflects the committee's commitment to creating welcoming spaces where relationships can grow and our Timothy family can gather together.

A few months ago, we invited volunteers to help with this ministry, but unfortunately, we did not receive any responses. We are reaching out again because we truly need additional help if we are to continue providing these meaningful gifts to our newest members.

The good news is that you do not need to be an expert woodworker to get involved. The member who currently builds these chests is willing to teach and mentor someone who would like to learn the process. If you have basic woodworking tools and a willingness to serve, this could be a wonderful opportunity to use your gifts to bless young families in our congregation.

This ministry has been a treasured part of welcoming children into God's family, but it cannot continue without additional volunteers. We are at a point where we need others to step forward and learn this process so that future baptized children can continue receiving these special gifts.

If you are interested in helping, having questions, or would like to learn more about what is involved, please reach out. We'd love to connect with you and show you how you can be a part of this meaningful ministry.

The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) invites you to participate in LUMAA's September meeting at Peace Lutheran Church, KCMO, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026.  Registration begins at 9am with the Opening Service scheduled for 9:30am.  If you are not a member of LWML but would like to attend the meeting and see what many activities the group performs in the Metro Kansas City area, you are welcome to join us.  The Program presentation will be given by Carla Hamilton, Director of Grow in Peace Day Care, with songs by children attending the daycare.  If you would like to stay for lunch after the meeting, please contact Lois Kuecker at 816-868-5500, by Sunday, September 13, so reservations can be made.  Family-sized hygiene products and cleaning supplies (e.g., paper towels, TP, laundry soap, dish or bar soap, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste and toothbrushes) are the items chosen to be collected in September and given to struggling families.   A collection container is available in our church lobby to hold donated items.   All Timothy members are welcome to assist in this drive.  

Throughout the month of September, Timothy Lutheran Church and School will be collecting donations for the Community Services League. We invite all members and friends of our congregation to participate by donating needed items to support individuals and families in our community.

Family Sunday August 30th

Join us this Sunday as we celebrate the fifth Sunday of the month! It’s Family Sunday, so there will be no FaithRoots classes. Children will remain with their parents and participate in the worship service together.

If you are transferring your membership to our church, we invite you to attend the Membership Transfer Welcome Class with Pastor Kendall on October 7th.

This class is designed to welcome new members and provide important information about church membership and ministry opportunities. If you are planning to transfer to our church, please sign up to attend.

If your transfer paperwork has not yet been received by the church, please contact us as soon as possible so we can assist you with the process.

The Timmy Burger booth is just three weeks away, and we're excited to celebrate with our church and school community! To make this event a success, we still need volunteers to fill a variety of shifts.

We especially need helping hands for setup on Thursday evening and teardown on Sunday. If you can spare a little time, your support would be greatly appreciated. Every volunteer plays an important role in making the Fall Fun Fest a fun and welcoming event for everyone.

Beginning in September, take a break from the busyness of the week and spend your Friday lunch with Pastor Kendall! Each 30-35 minute live will offer a conversational, practical look at God’s Word and how it speaks into everyday life. Our first journey will take us through the Psalms — the Bible’s prayer book for every season of life. Grab your lunch, your Bible, and perhaps a cup of coffee, and join us each Friday at noon on Facebook Live!

Ladies, are you looking for an opportunity to visit with other sisters in Christ during the day? All Timothy ladies and their friends are invited to the LWML Ruth Circle gatherings on the second Thursdays (Sept. thru May) at 10 am at Pointe of Hope Coffee Shop. We joyfully proclaim Christ as Lord, support missions near and far, and serve others. There's always food--(sometimes light breakfast, other times lunch or potluck), fellowship, and fun! Choir Begins on Tuesday September 8th Join US.

Music enhances our worship, and you are invited to join us in choir.

Timothy Choir is scheduled to begin on Tuesday September 8th from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. in the music room. At the 7 pm hour we will introduce this year’s cantata by Marty Parks, “A Song, a Son, a Savior” schedule to be presented on Sunday December 13th. Hope you can be a part of bringing praises to our worship.

The Missouri District LCMS encourages congregations to support Tomorrow’s Teachers and Preachers through their donations. Contributions will be added to the Missouri District Church Worker Student Aid Endowment, helping provide financial assistance to future church workers. Thank you for your generous support!

Kathy Wilbers and her husband, Louie, have been members of Timothy Lutheran Church for more than 30 years. She is active in choir, Bible study, and serves on the Timmy Burger committee.

Kathy is a retired high school math and ACT Prep teacher with 31 years of classroom experience. Throughout her career, she was involved in teacher leadership, new‑teacher mentoring, coaching, and supporting a wide range of extracurricular activities.

Kathy and Louie have adult children—Matt, Zach and Lena, Kelsey and Alex—and are proud grandparents of two boys who attend Timothy Lutheran School.

Danielle Coverdell lives in Blue Springs and serves on the Timothy Lutheran School board, where her children have attended for four years. Professionally, she is a Materials Scientist at Honeywell FM&T with nearly 20 years of industry experience, bringing strong analytical, data-driven problem solving, and strategic planning skills to the board. Deeply committed to service, Danielle is a member of and volunteers at Abundant Life Church. She additionally advocates for the deaf and hard of hearing community through Children’s Mercy Hospital (POPS), Families First, and Missouri First Steps. She holds a BA from William Jewell College and an MS from UMKC. In all areas of life, she is guided by Psalm 27:1: "The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear?"

Join us for Oasis on September 9 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Auditorium for an evening of dinner, activities, fellowship, and time spent in God's Word.

Our September theme is "God Calls Us", based on 1 Samuel 3:1-14. In this Scripture, we hear the story of young Samuel, who was confused when God called him three times. Samuel did not yet recognize God's voice or understand the message God was giving him. Like Samuel, we can sometimes wonder if God is speaking to us or what He wants us to hear.

The good news is that we can be confident that God has called us. Through Holy Baptism, God has claimed us as His own children. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, He continues to guide, strengthen, and speak through His Word and through our lives.

Come and explore this important message with us as we gather for faith, fun, and fellowship. We look forward to seeing you there! 😊
