In Acts 3:1–16, we see the healing power of Jesus restoring a broken life. Through His name, Christ brings more than physical healing—He restores dignity, belonging, and community. This sacred space reveals a Savior who meets people in their need and draws them back into life together.

A new year of confirmation is just around the corner! We will be holding a mandatory confirmation orientation night on Wednesday August 26th from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. To make the evening more enjoyable, we will provide a simple dinner while we share details about the upcoming year. During the orientation, you will receive a catechism, your journal, the access code for our Google Classroom, and the schedule for the year. Please note that Confirmation is a three-year program designed for students in grades 6 through 8. 

We kindly ask you to RSVP so we can prepare enough books, food, and journals for everyone. The deadline for RSVP is Thursday, August 20th. Contact Pastor Ryan with any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!

Students of all ages are invited to bring their backpacks for our annual Backpack Blessing. As a new academic year begins, we will pray for God’s wisdom, guidance, and protection over all students. The blessing will be offered at both services.

Sunday, August 23 – Teacher Dedication and Installation of Katelin Austin
Join us as we celebrate and pray for our teachers and formally install Katelin Austin. We ask God’s blessing on their work and ministry in the coming year.

The LWML Society will kick off its new season on Saturday, August 29, from 10:00 a.m. to Noon. Join us for a morning of fellowship, inspiration, and mission outreach.

Pastor Ryan will be our guest speaker and presenter, sharing highlights and experiences from the recent Mexico Mission Trip. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the mission work and the impact it has had on the communities served.

Following the presentation, guests will enjoy a delicious Mexican-themed meal. As part of the event, an ingathering money donation will be collected and given to the female missionary who worked with Casa Por Cristo, supporting her continued ministry and service.

Everyone is welcome to attend as we gather to celebrate God's work, enjoy fellowship, and support missions both near and far. We look forward to seeing you there!

Timothy Lutheran School is looking for friendly individuals to assist at the front desk during one of two shifts:

· 8:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

· 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities include greeting visitors, answering the door, assisting with light office projects, organizing materials, and helping with small tasks that support the daily ministries of both the school and church.

A current background check is required.

Whenever the fifth Thursdays of each year roll around, the staff at One City Café, an arm of the Bishop Sullivan Center at 39th & Troost in downtown KC, smiles because that is Timothy’s “day” to serve a free hot meal in the dining hall and then a sack lunch with those needing financial assistance and the love of Christ. Hannah, the current leader of OCC, said. “We love Timothy!” last Thursday when Timothy volunteers walked in with a smile to not only serve food and drinks but also visit with the community and listen to their stories. Thanks to Charlie and Pat Bock, Timothy’s One City Café organizers, for keeping alive this opportunity to serve. Each opportunity requires 10-12 people to assist the OCC staff. Anyone interested in supporting this ministry may contact the Bocks at chbock1@gmail.com. The next Timothy date is Oct. 29th. Volunteers report at 2:30 and serve from approx. 3-5 pm. To God Be the Glory!

The school supplies collected through Timothy's recent donation drive were delivered this morning to the Blue Springs Community Services League. The generosity of our church family will help equip local students with the tools they need for a successful school year.

As the supplies were being delivered, the Community Services League was bustling with activity. Volunteers and community members were dropping off food, school supplies, and other donations. The building was full of people eager to help, and there was a spirit of joy and generosity throughout the facility. It was inspiring to witness so many individuals working together to make a difference in the lives of others.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to this effort. Your donations are a tangible expression of God's love and care for our community. Because of your kindness, local families will receive much-needed support as they prepare for the upcoming school year.

A special thank you to all who donated, prayed, and supported this ministry opportunity. Your generosity continues to impact lives and strengthen our community.

Divorce can be one of the most challenging experiences a person faces, and no one should have to walk through it alone. Our Divorce Care ministry is committed to offering understanding, encouragement, and practical guidance to individuals navigating this difficult season. To continue providing this vital support, we are inviting volunteers to join our team as group facilitators.

You do not need to be divorced to serve in this role. What matters most is a caring heart, a willingness to listen, and a desire to help others heal and rebuild. Facilitators help create a safe, welcoming environment where participants can share their experiences, learn helpful tools, and find hope for the future.

If you have a passion for supporting others, or if you simply feel called to make a meaningful difference, we would love to have you consider volunteering. Your presence could be the encouragement someone needs to take their next step toward healing.

Our September theme is "God Calls Us", based on 1 Samuel 3:1-14. In this Scripture, we hear the story of young Samuel, who was confused when God called him three times. Samuel did not yet recognize God's voice or understand the message God was giving him. Like Samuel, we can sometimes wonder if God is speaking to us or what He wants us to hear.

The good news is that we can be confident that God has called us. Through Holy Baptism, God has claimed us as His own children. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, He continues to guide, strengthen, and speak through His Word and through our lives.

Come and explore this important message with us as we gather for faith, fun, and fellowship. We look forward to seeing you there! 😊

Acts 2:44-45, we see God’s grace reshapes the way believers live with one another. Fred by the gospel, they share their lives and resources so that no one is left in need. This generosity becomes a sacred space where God’s abundant grace is made visible, revealing His loving heart through a community that cares deeply for one another.

Last week, an email was sent to Timothy members inviting you to participate in our       ““How Is God Stretching You?” Assessment as part of our Growing Pains: When God Stretches His Church sermon series.

If you have not had a chance to complete the assessment yet, we encourage you to do so prayerfully and thoughtfully. This tool is designed to help you discover the unique gifts God has given you and explore ways He may be calling you to grow in faith, service, and relationships.

The assessment can be completed online through the link provided in the email. If you prefer a paper version, copies are available at church. Once completed, please return paper assessments to the Administrative Church Office.

Your responses will be reviewed confidentially by the GIVE Commission, who will help identify areas of strength, spiritual gifts, and opportunities for service that align with how God may be leading you.

We need your helping hands this Saturday, August 9th at 8:00 AM for a special Mulch Party at Timothy! As we prepare for the upcoming school year, it’s time to freshen up the landscaping around our church and school. And we’d love for you to join us in making our grounds look beautiful!

Timothy Lutheran Church is excited to support an Eagle Scout project that will improve one of our outdoor gathering areas and create a welcoming space for fellowship and ministry.

As part of his Eagle Scout service project (Troop 175), Carter Honig will lead efforts to clean up the church’s fire pit area, replace the existing fire pit, and build new benches. These improvements will provide a renewed outdoor space for church activities, youth gatherings, and community events for years to come.

The workday is scheduled for Saturday, August 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Timothy Lutheran Church, 301 E. Wyatt Road, Blue Springs, Missouri.

Volunteers are needed to help with the project. Those who are able are encouraged to bring equipment such as:

• Small chainsaws

• Pruning saws

• Grass trimmers

• Mowers

• Shovels

• Rakes

• Wheelbarrows

Whether you can assist for an hour or the entire day, your help will make a meaningful difference in completing this project and enhancing our church grounds.

Lunch will be provided for all volunteers.

Our Children's Ministry is expanding, and we are looking for volunteers to help teach our young people! We are looking for volunteers to serve pk-1, 2-3, or 4-5. If you feel called to work with youth, or if you have further questions, please reach out to Jessica Yanez at jessicay@timothylutheran.com, or stop by the table in the lobby between services in the upcoming weeks! We will have a volunteer meeting for all new and returning volunteers on August 9^th to catch everyone up to speed on the exciting changes that will be happening this fall in Faith Roots. 

All incoming 4th and 5th graders are invited to join us for an end of summer water games event on Sunday August 2nd, from 2p-4p. 

We will welcome our new 4th graders to the group, then partake in devotions, snack and water games.

Please bring your own towel, and a change of clothes, if you wish.

Timothy Lutheran School is looking for volunteers to help supervise students during lunch from approximately 11:00 a.m.–12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Volunteering as often as your schedule allows—no experience is necessary! A current background check and completion of the Protect MO Kids training are required.

Timothy Lutheran Church and School is collecting school supplies for Blue Springs Community Services League through August 6. Help local students start the school year prepared by donating needed school supplies.

Please refer to the posted supply list for requested items and place your donations in the collection bucket located in the church lobby.

Most Needed items: sandwich bread, chips, fruit snacks, ramen noodles, juice, bottled water, toilet paper, paper towels, face wash, shampoo, conditioner and sunscreen.

Timothy Lutheran Church and School is partnering with Hillcrest Transitional Housing this July to support individuals and families on their journey to independence. Donations of needed household and personal care items will be collected throughout the month.

Visit the collection cart at church to view the requested items and contribute as you are able. Every donation helps meet everyday needs and shares Christ’s love with our neighbors.
