First Reading: Romans 3:19-28 Gospel Reading: John 8;31-36
We never outgrow our need for the Gospel.
We never seem to outgrow the urge to prove ourselves. At work, at home, and even at church, we wonder whether we have done enough. We can confess salvation by grace on Sunday and spend the rest of the week acting as though God keeps a scorecard. Church involvement, generosity, and being a decent person quietly become evidence we offer in our own defense. But how much would be enough? And what happens when we fail? Paul removes every ground for boasting. All have sinned, and the Law cannot declare us righteous. Then comes the promise: God justifies sinners as a gift through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. At the cross, Jesus bears our judgment; in His resurrection, we have the living Savior in whom our hope rests. Faith receives His gift. It does not add to the final payment. Jesus announces the freedom only the Son can give release from slavery to sin and a place in the Father’s household. After our vision series, Timothy needs this foundation beneath every plan. A new building, a fuller calendar, or a stronger commitment cannot reconcile us to God. Christ has done that saving work. Through His Word and Sacraments, He gives and sustains the faith that receives His mercy. From that security, we are free to serve our neighbors. The coming stewardship series will begin here: everything we offer is a response to what Christ has already given. |

The congregation is invited to join us in celebrating our Lutheran Women in Mission (LWML) on LWML Sunday, as we recognize their faithful service to God and others. What a joy to celebrate these women on Reformation Sunday and give thanks for the many ways they help proclaim the saving message of Jesus Christ through their words and actions.
The mission of LWML is lived out through hands that serve, feet that go where needed, voices that share God’s praises, and hearts willing to follow His will. Through giving, serving, encouraging, and supporting those in need, these faithful women continue to share Christ’s love within our congregation, our community, and beyond. We give thanks to God for the women of LWML and pray that He will continue to strengthen, guide, and use them as they joyfully serve Him and share the hope we have in Christ.
Join us as we celebrate and thank God for our Lutheran Women in Mission! |

Join us on Saturday, November 7, from 2:00-6:00 PM for an afternoon of service, fellowship, and fun! Bring family members to help too! We'll begin by helping some of our senior members with fall yard work, gathering leaves and lending a hand as we care for those in our Timothy family.
After the work is done, we'll return to church to relax and celebrate with a bonfire, food, and fellowship. It's a great opportunity to serve others, enjoy time together, and make a difference in our congregation and community.
Bring your rake, work gloves, and a willing heart. We look forward to serving alongside you! 🍂🔥 |

Throughout the month of October, Timothy Lutheran Ministries will be collecting donations to support Hillcrest, a ministry dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome homelessness and build a stronger future through housing, education, and supportive services. To make giving easy, a donation cart will be available in the church lobby. Be sure to check the cart regularly for a list of Hillcrest's most needed items, as those needs may change throughout the month. Every donation, big or small, provides encouragement and practical assistance to those working toward stability and independence. As we remain Rooted in Christ (Colossians 2:6-7), we are blessed to share His love through acts of compassion and service. Thank you for your generosity and for partnering with Hillcrest to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors. Together, we can be Christ's hands and feet in our community. |
