First Reading: 1 Peter 4:8-11 Gospel Reading: John 13:1-17, 34-35
Because Christ has loved us, we can love the people He entrusts to us.
We can keep our calendars organized and still neglect the people whose names fill them. We answer messages while barely listening to the person across the table. We get the church event ready and forget to notice the person standing alone. It is possible to be busy doing good things while becoming impatient with the very people God has placed in our care. Stewardship reaches into our conversations, our homes, and the way we handle hurt. On the night before His death, Jesus kneels before His disciples and washes their feet. He knows their weakness. He knows Peter will deny Him. Yet He loves them, and He goes to the cross for sinners like them and like us. Paul’s call to compassion, patience, and forgiveness begins with our identity as God’s chosen, holy, and beloved people. We do not manufacture love to earn a place in God’s family. We receive Christ’s forgiveness and learn to extend it. For Timothy, caring for relationships means making room to listen, welcoming unfamiliar faces, praying with one another, and addressing conflict truthfully and patiently. The people around us are neighbors to love, not obstacles to getting ministry done. Who needs our attention this week? |

| | | Beginning Sunday, November 8, we will embark on a three-week stewardship journey together at Timothy centered on The 3Rs of Stewardship: Relationships, Responsibilities, and Resources. Stewardship begins not with what God asks us to give, but with what God has already given us. Through Christ, we have received forgiveness, grace, and life. In gratitude, we are invited to consider how we care for all God has entrusted to us. Over three Sundays, we'll prayerfully consider: · RELATIONSHIPS — November 8: Who are the people God has entrusted to my care? · RESPONSIBILITIES — November 15: Where is God calling me to serve faithfully? · RESOURCES — November 22: How can I generously use the resources God has entrusted to me? Remember our challenge to be “Kingdom Stretched”? As we reflect on the 3 Rs, consider where God may be stretching you to go beyond what you do today—in your relationships, daily responsibilities, or generosity—and how you might respond for the sake of His Kingdom. During this series, each household will receive a 3R Stewardship Commitment Card to prayerfully reflect on personal commitments for the coming year. The card is yours to keep; nothing needs to be turned in or reported. Linked Together in Thanksgiving Beginning November 8, we invite everyone to participate in our “Linked Together in Thanksgiving” display in the church lobby. At the display table, you'll find paper links where you can write one blessing you thank God for today. Simply leave your completed link at the table, and throughout the sermon series, we'll join the links together into a growing Chain of Thanks, displayed nearby. As the chain grows, it will remind us that God blesses us individually and joins us together as His people. Each blessing is unique, yet together they reflect God's goodness and the many ways He works through our Timothy family. May this stewardship journey encourage us to recognize God's blessings, grow in gratitude, and respond faithfully to His calling.

Timothy’s leadership has approved a written policy allowing responsible alcohol use at certain campus events under the policy’s guidelines. This represents a change from our longstanding practice and provides flexibility in planning fellowship opportunities. The policy reflects Scripture’s teaching that alcohol may be used responsibly, that drunkenness is sinful, and that our choices should show care and respect for others (John 2:1–11; Ephesians 5:18; Romans 14:19–21). The full policy is available, please click here to read. Please contact the Executive Board President or Pastor Kendall with any questions. |

Christmas is right around the corner, and we have a wonderful opportunity to bless someone who has been part of our mission partnership with Hillcrest. Faith, a resident from our Hillcrest-sponsored apartment, has recently graduated from the program and is beginning an exciting new chapter of independent living. As she settles into her new apartment, we invite the Timothy family to help provide some of the household essentials she needs to get started. We will be collecting donated items through December 3. Every gift, big or small, is a meaningful way to share Christ’s love and support Faith as she continues her journey toward stability and independence. Thank you for your generosity and for helping make this Christmas season a little brighter for Faith. Questions? Please contact Sandy Gregory at 816-228-5300, ext. 8042. |

Dear Timothy Congregation and Staff, Thank you for the abundant prayers and overwhelming outpouring of love you have shown my family and me as we grieved the loss of my father, Michael Plecker. We are deeply grateful to our amazing pastors—Pastor Kendall, Pastor Fran, and Pastor Ryan—for planning and leading such a beautiful funeral service and graveside committal. Special thanks also to Timothy’s incredible support staff, namely Gary Williams, Mary Taggart, Sandy Gregory, and Chris Krenz, who generously gave their time to help with the visitation, and all who covered positions while they were gone. I am beyond blessed to serve alongside such a wonderful team here at Timothy. Your love and support have truly carried us through this difficult season. We find comfort in knowing that God is always good, and we rest securely in His promise that we will see Dad again! With all our love, Kim and Jeff Brunkhorst and family Judi Plecker |

As the crisp mornings of fall settle in and Thanksgiving approaches, it's time once again for Timothy’s November food drive in support of Jesús El Buen Pastor Lutheran Church in Kansas City. This cherished tradition helps provide Thanksgiving meals to families in need throughout our community. This year, the church anticipates serving approximately 100 families, each receiving a box of food along with a frozen turkey from Harvesters to help fill their tables with gratitude and warmth. 🛒 How to Participate: Donations may be placed in the grocery cart located in the church lobby, just to the right (east) of the south entry doors. Grocery bags with a suggested food list are available in the cart — simply take one (or more), fill it with your donations, and return it to the same location. 📅 Deadline for Donations: Please bring your filled bags no later than Tuesday November 17th. Gary Flandermeyer will be dropping these off Wednesday November 18th to Jesús El Buen Pastor Lutheran Church. |
