Are You the Guy?

We have arrived at a major destination. We have arrived at Jerusalem, where Jesus is arrested and brought before Pilate. It is here Jesus is asked one simple question, "Are You the King of the Jews?" And Jesus answers. But His answer has huge ramifications. His answer is what ultimately kills Him. Yet Jesus doesn't shy away because He knows the truth. The question is, do we?

Walk with Jesus!

Do you yearn for a deeper connection with God?
This sentiment of "I can't live without you!" often reflects our deepest longings. But  there's only One we truly cannot live without: our Lord, Jesus Christ.

This spring, we dined with Jesus through Lent and Easter. Now, we continue our journey with a brand new sermon series: Walk with Jesus! We now delve into the Gospel of Luke, following Jesus' footsteps. We see Him teaching along the road, answering questions, and transforming moments into powerful lessons.

Just as the disciples walked with Jesus, we too can journey with Him. Through this series, we'll discover new truths, deepen our faith, and draw closer to God. If you desire more of Jesus, join us! Let's walk with Him each week and experience the transformative power of His presence.

Call Committee Update

At its meeting on Aug. 14, Timothy's Call Committee discussed the process to rank the 15 senior pastor candidates received from the MO District last week. The committee also finalized a proposed Senior Pastor position description to be reviewed by Timothy's Executive Board soon with final approval by the Board of Elected Elders. Before the next meeting on Aug. 27, the committee will send potential interview questions to Chair Tary Krahenbuhl and individually rank the 15 candidates.

Please continue to keep this divine call process and the Call Committee in your prayers as we discern God's Will for Timothy's next Senior Pastor. Thank you!

Staff Highlight Corner

With years of dedicated service in education, Mrs. Brunkhorst has taught various grades and is deeply  cherished by both peers and students. Her lifelong commitment to learning is evident; a former teacher recalls her as a gifted student whose talents she continues to utilize in her teaching.

Colleagues praise Mrs. Brunkhorst for her evident love of the Lord, her ability to make students feel valued, and her demonstration of the Fruits of the Spirit. They admire her readiness to support and pray for others and her consistent kindness and grace. Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Brunkhorst spends countless hours tutoring, connecting families to resources, and encouraging everyone she meets. As the athletic director, she manages games, referees, schedules, and coaches, proving that learning can occur both in and out of the classroom.

Students describe her as kind, supportive, and engaging, appreciating her efforts to make learning enjoyable and effective. As Principal Ken Holland notes, Mrs. Brunkhorst’s quiet strength and passionate teaching embody the spirit of Ephesians 4:2, making Timothy Lutheran School truly blessed to have her.

Hillcrest Resident Birthday

Blair, a resident of Timothy’s Hillcrest, recently celebrated a joyful occasion with her daughters—her 1-year-old’s birthday and her 4-year-old daughter. Surrounded by friends and family, the event was a heartfelt gathering made possible through the support of Timothy’s members. The celebration was a testament to the strong, supportive network at Hillcrest, which played a pivotal role in making the day special. Blair, who is set to graduate at the end of this month, was grateful for the community's involvement in the festivities.

Property Board Update

We’re sure you’ve noticed, but Timothy is moving dirt for the new storage building! While rains this week have resulted in a week behind schedule, the building pad and base materials are in place and ready for footings. Our contractor believes this time can be made up with the following schedule adjustments:

  • concrete pours from Aug. 22-Sept. 16
  • building erection during week of Oct. 7th
  • plant trees this fall by Timothy’s Property Board and senior high youth attending 2025 NYG
  • transfer all church property from storage containers and offsite storage in early Nov.; volunteer workdays to be scheduled
  • sell storage containers after first of the year

Thank you for supporting this project and keeping it in your prayers! To God Be the Glory!

The Kingdom....

The journey gets closer and closer now to Jerusalem. The anticipation builds among the crowds. There's also a buzz whether this is the time when Jesus will usher in the Kingdom of God. That sounded good to the people then and there, and, to be honest, it sounds good to us, the church, in the here and now. But Jesus wants us to come to a fuller understanding of this Kingdom and the fullness of where it can be found. Today we tune in.

Walk with Jesus!

Do you yearn for a deeper connection with God?
This sentiment of "I can't live without you!" often reflects our deepest longings. But  there's only One we truly cannot live without: our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Staff Highlight Corner

This week our staff highlight is Becky Barnett. With over 40 years of teaching, Becky has profoundly  impacted our community as a middle school math and science teacher. Known for her titles like "Greatest Chiefs Fan," "Concession Stand Guru," and "Recycling Queen," she also contributes as a Coffee and Donuts Committee Member and a Timothy Burger Red-Shirt Committee Member.

Her colleagues admire her sense of humor, enthusiastic laugh, and dedication to teaching. They appreciate her thorough explanations in math and her commitment to preparing students for future grades. Students also praise her, noting her expertise in math and her ability to make learning enjoyable.

Hebrews 6:10 reflects her nature: "God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His people and continue to help them." Thank you, Mrs. Barnett, for your exceptional service and generosity.

You Better Consider

If you haven't sensed it yet, Jesus brings it out in the opening of our text this week. Walking with Him isn't a nice walk in the park. As we have seen, heard, and experienced through a handful of challenges and struggles, Jesus now asks us to consider the cost of being a disciple. Because looming in the background is the suffering of the cross. Before we go any further, let's take inventory of what discipleship costs us and whether it's worth it.

Walk with Jesus!

Do you yearn for a deeper connection with God?
This sentiment of "I can't live without you!" often reflects our deepest longings. But  there's only One we truly cannot live without: our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Open House The congregation is invited to an open house on Sunday, Aug. 4, honoring long-time member Lee Pryne on his 95th birthday this past Tuesday.
The open house will be from 1-4pm at Places Restaurant inside John Knox Village in Lee's Summit.

Timothy Group Serves Our Community - On the GO!
Last Sunday, a dedicated group of eight individuals from Timothy made a significant impact at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Together, they provided a hot meal, offered warm companionship, and shared in the power of God's Word. Their selfless service was a testament to the spirit of community and Christian love. Through this outreach, they met physical needs and provided much-needed emotional and spiritual support to those in need. Consider how you can put together a small group to love our neighbors.

HVAC System Upgrade Brings New Comfort to Timothy
This week, Timothy received a significant blessing with the installation of seven new HVAC systems. This upgrade, completed during the week of July 22nd, marks a major improvement for the church and its school, promising enhanced comfort and better air quality across the campus. Timothy's new HVAC systems are not just a technical advancement but a testament to the church’s dedication to providing a conducive environment for spiritual and educational growth. These units were funded by donations and partly from the sale of the RD Mize campus. The upgrade promises to make a meaningful impact on the experience of everyone who visits or participates in activities at the church and school.

LUMA New Executive Director

Timothy has strongly supported the Lutheran Urban Mission Agency for many years. In addition to being one of Timothy's tithing organizations, LUMA will receive many household & food items collected at VBS; TLS often conducts food drives during the school year for LUMA. Timothy's LWML members are automatically members of the LUMA Auxiliary, regularly providing many opportunities for our church to  support LUMA's outreach efforts through food drives and pleas for winter necessities, school supplies, and other youth needs & activities.

In May, Pastor Phil Cook accepted the position as LUMA's Executive Director after serving as LUMA Board Chair for the past several years. His servant heart for missions, both local and international, is strong as he has led many youth mission trips to Mexico's border as well as supported missionaries in foreign lands and assisted immigrants and refugees.

Pastor Phil is eager to guide LUMA's vision to bring the fullness of the Gospel to the diverse cultures, generations, and communities of Greater KC. The congregation is invited to Pastor Phil's Installation Service and Ice Cream Social THIS SUNDAY, August 4th,  to welcome him in this new role. Please join us! Timothy prays God's blessings upon his ministry as he begins his service as the LUMA Executive Director.

Walking With Jesus - Snug Fit

Have you ever been hiking and found a nice snug place to crawl through? The question becomes whether you will really fit in and make it through. As we walk with Jesus today, He talks about a narrow spot, too, but this one matters for all eternity. Therefore, it is certainly worth considering. As we do so, Jesus reminds us of those who will make it through, and the truth He offers is not always easy to swallow.

Picnic for Worship Volunteers
Sunday morning worship is enhanced by so many volunteers every week! We praise God that willing hearts step up to volunteer in ministries like worship assistants, ushers, readers, altar guild, greeters, musicians/choir members, sound techs, Bible Class/FaithRoots/nursery teachers, donut ministry, and golf cart drivers.
The Board of Elected Elders wants to recognize and thank those dozens of volunteers by hosting a catered picnic for them on Saturday, Aug. 24, from 4-8 pm at Blue Springs Park Shelter #1. If you volunteer in any way on Sunday mornings, an email went out Wednesday, July 17th, including RSVP instructions to assist planners of this event. Please check Junk Mail or other files if it did not reach your inbox.
Call Committee Update

Timothy's Call Committee met on July 23, after individually spending the previous two weeks analyzing the congregational survey results in preparation for creating a new position description for Timothy's next Senior Pastor. Please see the details on the Call Committee website page. Click Here.

If you would like to see detailed results of the entire survey, please contact the church office at 816-228-5300.

The Call Committee created a first draft of the Senior Pastor position description, based upon the survey  results, which will be further reviewed between now and the next meeting on Aug. 14, if not before. The MO District Office is also currently creating a list of candidates for Timothy's consideration, based upon the survey results and knowledge of Timothy's needs. An email went to the congregation on July 24th with the wrong information so please see the email on July 25th with corrected information. The information is also corrected on the website.

Please continue to keep this divine call process and Timothy's Call Committee in your prayers as we move forward to discern God's Will in sending the man he's already chosen to serve as Timothy's next Senior Pastor. Thank you!

Timothy Beautification Project

Have you noticed God’s gift shaping up in Timothy’s front yard? What began 15 years ago as a retention area for runoff from parking lots and surrounding fields is slowly turning into a wetland!

What really is a “wetland”?  It’s a place where land is covered by water with its own ecosystem as a biological community of interacting organisms with their environment. It is different from other bodies of water by the kind of vegetation that adapts to its wet soil. Timothy’s wetland has already been identified as growing 34 species of desired natives! God’s hand is at work!

Some benefits of developing this area into a true wetland are creating a habitat for birds and animals, developing a curriculum for TLS students, beautifying the church grounds, and eventually creating a prayer walk around the wetland.

There is much to do to accomplish these goals. Stay tuned for further updates about this project and how you can contribute time, talents, and treasures so this wetland can become something people will enjoy for years to come.

2024 Hillcrest Gala

It’s time to mark your calendars to attend the 2024 Hillcrest Gala! This year it will be Saturday, August 24, from 5:30-9 pm at the Overland Park Convention Center. Timothy will reserve a table for 10, with the option  of reserving more tables as needed. Tickets are $175 each ($100 of which is covered by Timothy’s Hillcrest fund). Contact Sandy Gregory (816.228.5300 Ext. 8042) to reserve your tickets and for additional information. Thank you!

Storage Building Progress

The Property Board met with contractors Musselman & Hall (General Contractor for the project) this week. They are planning to break ground on 07/31. Musselman & Hall will self-perform all concrete, storm sewer, and seeding. Knight Trenching & Excavation will perform all earthwork and building pad construction. Completion date TBD. Topline Steel Buildings will furnish and erect the Storage building.  Musselman and Hall prefer to have the building erected after they are done, which is hoped to be done in the first week of October. Overhead Door has been contacted for garage doors; they will not order doors until they can measure the building openings. We will accelerate and negotiate these activities as much as possible. The Executive Board has been involved with all approvals during this process. Please stay tuned for more information to come.

VBS Celebration Sunday

Fueled by the life-changing news of Jesus, His followers spread the word after His ascension. Among them was Paul, who tirelessly journeyed across the Mediterranean and Asia. His mission? To share the story of Jesus, God's Son, who died, rose from the dead, and offered eternal life to all believers. This message transcended ethnicities and religions - it was for Jews, Gentiles, and anyone seeking truth. During his travels, Paul met women praying by a river, believers in the one God yearning for more. His words resonated deeply with Lydia, a businesswoman, who fervently requested baptism for herself and her household. Through Paul's message, Lydia became the first Christian convert in Europe, and her home became one of the first churches.

2024 Scuba VBS a Rousing Success

Over 145 students and 100 teen and adult volunteers turned Timothy into a Scuba adventure of learning about Jesus and His love for us this week!  The "Grand Hall" with all of its decorations never looked so inviting as temps at the beginning of the week soared like normal in mid-July.

Be sure to attend worship this Sunday to hear the kids sing songs they learned this week! This amazing ministry  to help kids grow in their faith is not possible each year without dozens of volunteers pulling together as a team to schedule kids into classes, teach Bible stories, lead crafts, serve snacks, lead recreational activities, teach new songs, and foster Christian friendships, among students and adults alike. Thank you, one and all! You know who you are! VBS may have been in a new place this year, but the environment and excitement didn't change. To God Be the Glory!

If you are interested in promoting this ministry, you can place a donation inside the VBS Adopt-a-Student envelope in this week's bulletin or click here to donate online. Your contributions are truly appreciated!

Timothy Welcomes New Altar Cross

A new cross adorns Timothy's altar through the generosity of memorials given in memory of Lavona Dittmer and Carol Koenig. The families of both sisters in Christ designated memorials for their loved ones to Timothy's LWML. After consulting with the families and the Board of Elected Elders, LWML approved the purchase of a new cross, constructed of wood and brass, at its May society meeting.

This cross will be a constant tribute to two women of faith and sisters in Christ. Timothy thanks the Dittmer and Koenig families, LWML, and the Board of Elected Elders for working together to honor God.

Additionally, the Executive Board approved the Property Board’s recommendation to enter a construction agreement with Musselman & Hall. Musselman & Hall is known for their expertise and commitment to quality craftsmanship, will oversee the project of the new storage facility.

Construction will start soon. Timothy Lutheran looks forward to keeping its members and the community informed about the development of this significant addition to its facilities.

Don’t Be Distracted

Walking with Jesus requires some attention. Why? Because distractions will always be prevalent. Distractions pull us away from where He is leading us and into places of emptiness. Two distractions Jesus warns us of today are hypocrisy and misuse of our possessions. Both these things can consume our thoughts and distance our hearts from Him. Jesus therefore tunes us in and directs our attention elsewhere so that we might stay focused.

Walk with Jesus!

Do you yearn for a deeper connection with God?
This sentiment of “I can’t live without you!” often reflects our deepest longings. But there’s only One we truly cannot live without: our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Call Committee Update

Timothy’s Call Committee met on July 10 to welcome Pastor Peter Kirby from the MO District who shared the data from the congregation’s participation in the Senior Pastor Congregational Survey. The committee will assimilate the information to share with the congregation and as well as use the data to develop a position description for Timothy’s next Senior Pastor. The goal of the next committee meeting on July 23 is to finalize the Senior Pastor position description for Board of Elders’ approval and then send to MO District President Hagan. Please continue to keep this divine call process and the Call Committee in your prayers.

While vacations, summer breaks, and weekend getaways create refreshment for our busy lives, the ministry Jesus has called us to at Timothy continues to unfold as we seek to transform lives through Christ. Our church continues to house ministries, worship, meetings, and other gatherings. Our staff continues to put in the hours to help us be successful. So if Timothy is your home and a place where you have grown in faith and learned what it means to join Jesus on His mission, remember to continue your worship and thanksgiving to the Lord by supporting Jesus’ work through Timothy throughout the year.

If now is a good time to enroll in online giving, please click the button to the left to go to the Give link on Timothy’s website. Feel free to contact Financial Coordinator Chris Krenz if you have questions. To God Be the Glory!

Mercy Is Jesus' Middle Name

As we continue walking this week, Jesus decides to share a story with us.. It's a story many of us know quite well: The Story of the Good Samaritan. And while Jesus certainly encourages us to live likewise, ultimately the story reveals part of Gold's character which He shows to all people. What can we learn from the story, and what difference does it make? We tune into Jesus to find out.

Timothy's Hillcrest Apt Resident appreciates Timothy's prayers and assistance as she works to gain self-sufficiency. We can help by donating disposable diapers (size 2 or 3) or wipes for her 9-month-old. Please drop off at the front desk during the week or on Sunday mornings. Your help is very much appreciated. Thank you!

Carry On

Here we begin to see that Jesus is abundantly clear about where this walk leads to: the cross, the resurrection, and, in time, the ascension. The time is coming when Jesus will no longer be here in the flesh, and yet those who follow will be called to  "carry on." But in that calling we have to realize it won't be a nice stroll in the park. How in the world should we do that? Come and find out.

VBS Adopt a Student

We need you! Yes, you make VBS an amazing opportunity for our kiddos to learn and grow in their faith. There are many ways to support VBS week, July 15th - 19th, but perhaps one of the easiest is to grab an “Adopt a Student” Envelope off our VBS donation wall (look for the hanging scuba diver in the atrium), put whatever amount of $ in there you can, and place it in the offering plate. Every dollar helps as it supports our students' supplies, snacks, t-shirts, and more.

Reminder: Another way is to click on the church website under GIVE, select fund, and scroll to VBS Adopt-a-Student. Thank you!

RESOURCE HEALTH IS FUELING FAMILIES

Resource Health pregnancy resource center (formerly Rachel House) gives nearly 5,000 QT gas cards yearly to every person who walks through the door, to enable them to return for needed assistance and education.  Look for the big red gas cans on the table in the narthex one more Sunday, June 30th , and help fill the cans with $10 QT gas cards, cash, or checks, payable to Resource Health.  100% of your gifts will go towards assisting the families of those served by RH.  Visit www.resourcehealthpartners.org to learn more about this faith-based organization (which Timothy supports with its tithes).

Celebrate Independence Day

God bless America! As you celebrate the Fourth of July this year, remember to thank Him for many blessings we enjoy as Americans. If you are interested in attending a free community event, the Red, White, and Blue Springs celebration on Wed., July 3, will be held at BS South High School & Young Park, with gates opening  at 3pm. The celebration includes live music, fireworks (starting at 9:30pm), vendors, a magician, yard games, beer garden, and more.

Lighthouse Fireworks will again operate a fireworks tent on Timothy’s property at the corner of Lincoln St.  and Highway 7. Worshipers can take a worship bulletin or staff ID to receive 10% discount on purchases.

Pointe of Hope will also operate a tent at their location on North Highway 7. They are offering free snow cones from 5-9pm each night of the sales. Fun, safe holiday to all!

Senior Pastor Congregational Survey

The Senior Pastor Congregational Survey is LIVE, and the Call Committee urges all members, ages 14 & up, to complete it before 11:59 pm this Sunday, June 30. Your voice matters! Responses are anonymous. The MO District gathers and tabulates the data which will be important in creating a new Senior Pastor position description as well as valuable information for prospective candidates to learn about Timothy.

Completing the survey electronically is preferred, but paper copies can be picked up at church and returned to the Senior Pastor Survey Collection Box for Call Committee members to input manually before June 30. Call Committee members will help worshipers complete the survey online on Sunday mornings by using tablets at the table in the lobby. Other methods include clicking on the QR code found on the worship bulletin insert each Sunday in June. The survey is also available on the church website (www.timothylutheran.com) under the About Us link (Church Manuals and Reports).

A Senior Pastor Nomination Form is now available for worshipers to complete if they have a Lutheran pastor in mind to nominate as Timothy’s next Senior Pastor. Feel free to pick up a copy in the Nomination Form tray at church and return to its Collection Box by June 30. All nominations will be sent to the District Office for President Hagan to consider as he compiles the list of candidates for Timothy’s consideration.

Please continue to keep this divine call process and the Call Committee in your prayers as we seek God’s Will in finding the shepherd He already has chosen to serve as Timothy’s next Senior Pastor. Thank you!

Family Worship on 5th Sundays!  Hey, Timothy families!  One children’s ministry goal is to have family worship on Sundays.  We know Faithroots provides opportunities for parents and kids to learn at their own levels, but we also know worshipping together is vital for spiritual and family growth. So on 5th Sundays (4 times a year) we are NOT having Faithroots and will begin working toward a unique and more family-friendly environment on those Sundays. THIS SUNDAY will be our first Sunday.  You may not notice a lot of changes this Sunday, but we are planning more things for September. Please reach out to Pastor Ryan with questions or ideas!

Church and School Office will be closed on Thursday, July 4, but will be open on Friday, July 5.

Come and Follow

We finally get to the place where Jesus invites us to join Him on this walk. That's one of the amazing things about God. While He could do everything alone, He chooses to bring people along with Him. And so, He reaches out to some unlikely, untrained people, like most of us, to come along. But insufficiency always stands in the way. So, what are you lacking?

Walk with Jesus!

“Dear Timothy Lutheran Church,
What a joy it has been studying the Books of Romans through Revelation over the past eight weeks in my theological training. I cannot thank you enough for your support, which has made it possible for me to be better equipped to teach and lead women at my church.
I wanted to share a few of the main points that stood out to me from this class. First, as I read through the New Testament Epistles, it became clear how every book provides some reminder or grounding in the Gospel message. This is important because Gospel unites every New Testament writer. My professor highlighted Martin Luther’s insight on this, noting that we forget the Gospel every day and thus need daily reminders of it.
Second, I was surprised to realize how much the New Testament church struggled with sin, just as we do today. This is especially evident in Paul’s letters to the Corinthian church, where he addresses them as “those sanctified” (1 Cor. 1:2). This was a lightbulb moment for me, realizing that God already sees us as righteous and sanctified, even while we continue to fight sin. I also learned another phrase from Luther, “Simul Justus et peccator,” which means “at the same time righteous and sinner.” What a beautiful truth that reminds us of God’s abounding saving grace.
My next class is my first systematic theology course. I look forward to providing another update soon!
In Him,
Megan Balla”

Family Worship on 5th Sundays!  Hey, Timothy families!  One children’s ministry goal is to have family worship on Sundays.  We know Faithroots provides opportunities for parents and kids to learn at their own levels, but we also know worshipping together is vital for spiritual and family growth. So on 5th Sundays (4 times a year) we are NOT having Faithroots and will begin working toward a unique and more family-friendly environment on those Sundays. June 30th will be our first Sunday.  You may not notice a lot of changes that Sunday, but we are planning more things for September. Please reach out to Pastor Ryan with questions or ideas!

Church and School Office will be closed on Thursday, July 4, but will be open on Friday, July 5.

Special Voters’ Meeting  There will be a Special Voters’ Meeting on Sunday, July 14, immediately following the 10:30 service to vote on the following motion:  “The Timothy Lutheran School Board, with the support of the Executive Board and Board of Elected Elders, moves to call emeritus teacher Ronda Krekel to fill an open TLS teaching position for the 2024-2025 school year.”  A minimum of 40 congregant members is required for a quorum; this is the only item on the agenda. Please plan to attend! Thank you!

2024 Interest Survey  Thanks to all who have submitted an interest survey! We look forward to getting you connected soon. If you have not submitted yours yet, please click here or pick up a printed copy on the table below the lobby TV. Thank you!

Thank you for your faithful and most generous support of Resource Health. Thank you for being a church family who treasures the precious lives of the unborn and the souls of their parents. Thank you for helping us change one life, and one family at a time - for God's glory. His for Life, Debbie.

Wandering in the Wilderness

Most photographic walks occur at the side of a stream, through the mountains, through the forest, or amidst a field of flowers. But not this one Jesus takes us on. Nope, Jesus takes us through the wilderness. There we find Him hungry, worn, and attacked by one of our great enemies, Satan. Yet there's a purpose for it all. Jesus leads us back to where His people failed, to remind us that He won't.

We'll delve into the Gospel of Luke, following Jesus' footsteps. We'll see Him teaching along the road, answering questions, and transforming moments into powerful lessons.

Just as the disciples walked with Jesus, we too can journey with Him. Through this series, we'll discover new truths, deepen our faith, and draw closer to God. If you desire more of Jesus, join us! Let's walk with Him each week and experience the transformative power of His presence.

LWML Missouri District Convention

Following the theme "He will make your paths straight" from Proverbs 3:5-6, several Timothy LWML members followed the pathway to Independence to attend the 28th Biennial LWML Missouri District Convention last weekend.  There was no disappointment, as the event involved a Banner Procession by attending Zones designed in the Convention's theme and a Worship Service with Holy Communion Friday evening followed by some karaoke (yes, a few Timothy LWML ladies participated against their better judgment).  The weekend generated an array of speakers; voting for Officers, Pastoral Counselors, and Mission Grants; a Silent Auction; multiple displays and vendors; a Mission Fair; a Mission Walk; Gifts from the Heart submissions; and LWML Jeopardy game hosted by our own Deanna Cross.  What an uplifting and enlightening few days to share God's love, meet old friends, and make new ones!

RESOURCE HEALTH IS FUELING FAMILIES

Resource Health pregnancy resource center gives nearly 5,000 QT gas cards yearly to every person who walks through the door, to enable them to return for needed assistance and education.  Look for the big red gas cans on the table in the narthex on Sunday, June 16, 23, and 30, and help fill the cans with $10 QT gas cards, cash, or checks, payable to Resource Health.  100% of your gifts will go towards assisting the families of those served by RH.  Visit www.resourcehealthpartners.org to learn more about this faith-based organization (which Timothy supports with its tithes).

Senior Pastor Congregational Survey

The Senior Pastor Congregational Survey is LIVE, and the Call Committee urges all members, ages 14 & up, to complete it before 11:59 pm on Sunday, June 30.

Thank you!

Children & Youth Ministry Needs Helping Hands

Children & Youth Ministry here at Timothy is rolling, and while things are a bit quiet this summer until VBS (July 15-19), we are prepping and preparing for the upcoming fall season. We need helping hands! Each Sunday, we need a few more hands to assist with the rotation stations during FaithRoots. Can you help one Sunday a month, whether by sharing the Bible story or just helping on the sidelines?  Responsible middle schoolers and older as well as adults are encouraged to volunteer and can even observe a week before committing. Please reach out to Pastor Ryan if you can help. Thank you!

National Youth Gathering

Attention all 8th graders through seniors in high school.
We are already prepping for the 2025 National Youth
Gathering (NYG) in New Orleans July 19th - 23rd. If you did not attend the info meeting back in March or did not let Pastor Ryan know you might be interested, please reach out ASAP as information is going out, and we want to get you on the email list!

Adam's Army Blood Drive

Thank you, Timothy, for once again showing up to support the Annual Adam’s Army Blood Drive! In its 19th year and first to be held on a Saturday, the Community Blood Center is very appreciative that Timothy’s goal of 40 usable donated pints fulfilled 100% of its goal! These 40 pints represent 120 lives saved! Thanks also to the Reed family for continuing to honor their son Adam’s memory through this important ministry by organizing all the details, including preparing and serving a delicious lunch, and to the volunteers manning the check-in table and snack table. A special thank you to Rod’s Sports for once again providing t-shirts for volunteers and donors.  To God Be the Glory!

Town Hall Summary

Thanks to all who attended the Town Hall gathering last Sunday. A recording of the first portion of the  gathering can be accessed on Timothy’s website under About Us link (Church Manuals and Reports). The second half of the gathering was inadvertently not recorded. The PowerPoint slides for the gathering can also be accessed in the same location. The updated 2024 Strategic Plan is located on the website under the Next Generation/Strategic Plan link in About Us.  Mark your calendars for the next Town Hall on Sunday, Oct. 13, 2024. Thank you!

Thank you, Timothy  The following note was received this week from the MO District:
“Members of Timothy Lutheran Church,
A huge thank you to you all for walking with the Missouri District in our statewide servant event. With approximately 10,800 participants, this was our largest SHINE! to date. That doesn’t happen without a lot of encouragement and support—and Timothy is one loud, joyful, and committed cheerleader (everything you’d want a cheerleader to be!) We’re thankful for your partnership—not just with SHINE!—but also in the way you show God’s love to those in the KC Metro and beyond. It’s awesome to be able to work in this Kingdom with you all. Shine on!
Leah Sieveking”
