As we continue our series on Revitalizing Relationships, we turn our focus outward. God’s desire is not only for us to grow in relationship with Him and fellow believers—but also to extend His love to the world around us. Why should broken, hurting, and sin-stained people matter to us? Because they matter deeply to God. Join us this week as we explore His heart for the world and encounter the transforming power of His great love.
Another New Year is on the horizon, and we have much to be thankful for including Pastor Kendall, Lynn and family joining us here at Timothy. Now we set our eyes on what the Lord is calling us to as Timothy Lutheran Ministries in 2026. As we have prayerfully considered and conversed, the Lord has placed us to center our attention on Revitalizing Relationships by Sharing Sacred Spaces. So, we are going to kick off 2026 inviting you to join us as we work toward deepening our relationships with Jesus, with one another, and with those outsides. We are going to be challenged, exhorted, and encouraged in the year ahead. We are praying for God to do amazing things!

Have you ever wondered who provides the beautiful flowers displayed on the worship stage each Sunday? These arrangements are lovingly sponsored by members of our Timothy family to mark special moments—birthdays, anniversaries, baptisms, confirmations, or to honor and remember loved ones who have passed.
Sponsoring worship flowers is a meaningful way to celebrate life’s important events while enhancing our worship space for the entire congregation.
We invite you to sign up today to purchase flowers for an upcoming Sunday. Your dedication will be listed in the worship bulletin, and the flowers will be yours to take home after services if you wish.
To reserve a date, simply sign up in the lobby or contact the church office for assistance.
Let’s continue to beautify our worship together—one bloom at a time.

LWML “Bites for Mites” Bake Sale – Sunday, February 8, 2026
Indulge your sweet tooth on Sunday morning, February 8, with delicious treats from the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) bake sale! Known as “Bites for Mites,” this annual event features a tempting variety of homemade goodies—breads, cookies, candies, and if you arrive early enough, you might even snag a pie to take home.
With the Super Bowl happening the same day, it’s the perfect opportunity to pick up some tasty snacks to enjoy during the big game while cheering on your favorite team!
All proceeds support the LWML “mite” offerings, inspired by the biblical account of the widow’s mite (Luke 21:1–4). These small but meaningful contributions—given above and beyond regular offerings—combine to fund mission grants that make a tremendous impact at both district and national levels.
Be sure to stop by the lobby on Sunday, February 8, to grab your treats and help support LWML’s mission work. Your sweet purchase makes a real difference!
Are you a 4th or 5th grader? Are you really good at doing random tasks super-fast? Then you could be the next Minute-to-Win-It champion of Timothy Lutheran Church! OASIS is a chance to slow down, share a meal with other families, spend time together, and grow in both faith and community.
Have you ever wondered who sends the birthday, anniversary, and sympathy cards you receive from Timothy Lutheran? Behind this thoughtful ministry is Lois Kuecker, who faithfully volunteers her time to make sure our members feel remembered, supported, and celebrated.
Lois has lovingly sent countless cards over the years—bringing comfort during difficult moments and joy during special milestones. Her dedication helps strengthen our church family and reminds us all of the importance of caring for one another.
We are deeply grateful for Lois and the kindness she shares through this ministry. Thank you, Lois, for blessing our congregation in such a meaningful way!
Navigating the pain of separation or divorce can feel overwhelming, but no one has to go through it alone. Beginning February 9, our church will host a new cycle of DivorceCare, a compassionate and supportive 13‑week program designed to help individuals heal and rebuild their lives.
DivorceCare offers weekly sessions featuring expert video teaching, group discussion, and personal reflection. Participants gain practical tools for managing emotional struggles, navigating relationship changes, and discovering hope for the future.
Is your 5th–8th grader feeling called to receive the Lord’s Supper? If so, we invite you to join us for our First Communion class!
This five-week class begins Wednesday, February 25th, at 7-8 PM and will help prepare young believers to receive this precious gift. A parent or guardian are asked to attend alongside their child.

Let’s be honest—some days, “going to church” can feel like a chore. But Jesus doesn’t call us into the church to keep us busy or under control. He calls us because we need one another. In the church, we receive God’s eternal gifts, and it’s among His people that we share and grow in them together.

Last week, we explored what it means to have a meaningful relationship with Jesus. Like any relationship, it requires time, intentionality, and commitment to grow. Today, we’ll look at how we nurture that connection with Christ—and reflect on the distractions and challenges that often keep us from doing so.

The Community Services League team expressed deep gratitude for these badly needed supplies, which will make a real difference for local families. Thank you, Timothy, for sharing Christ’s love in such a tangible way!
In 2026 GROW Commission will focus on revitalizing small group ministry, with the goal of connecting all of us with God's Word and each other. Several members have already stepped forward to lead new small groups, but several more are still needed. Leaders don't have to be Biblical experts, but will guide or facilitate a group of 10-14 as you study God's Word together. Leaders may host their group, but may also work with another person who's willing to host but doesn't want to facilitate.
Materials will be available and an orientation/training meeting will be held in January. Groups will form in February and begin meeting in March.
Is God tugging at your heart to get involved? If so, don't hesitate to jump in!

As we begin 2026 with our new theme, Revitalizing Relationships by Sharing Sacred Spaces, we’re reminded that being a Christian isn’t about checking boxes, knowing all the books of the Bible, giving generously, singing loudly, or having a devotional on the kitchen table. It’s about cultivating a genuine relationship with Jesus, our Savior. Too often, the church can slip into routines of performance and rule-following. But Jesus invites us into something deeper and more meaningful. This year, we start by asking: What does a relationship with Jesus truly look like?
Another New Year is on the horizon, and we have much to be thankful for including Pastor Kendall, Lynn and family joining us here at Timothy. Now we set our eyes on what the Lord is calling us to as Timothy Lutheran Ministries in 2026. The glory of God has come in Christ Jesus our Lord as we bask in the aftermath of another Christmas celebration. But the Lord doesn’t stop showing His glory to His people. As we enter into this New Testament account, we find Saul stunned by the glory of Christ. But the Lord isn’t there to dismiss Saul but to reveal to him, his calling.
This Advent season, we invite you to behold the radiant glory of God as it breaks into our world and hearts. In this series, The Glory of the Lord, we will explore how God's glory reveals His promises, His power, His plans, His perfection, His uniqueness, His judgment, His identity, and even our calling. Each week, we’ll reflect on how the brilliance of His presence not only illuminates the story of Christ’s coming but also transforms our understanding of who God is and who we are in Him. Come and discover the wonder of Advent through the lens of divine glory—majestic, holy, and full of grace.
Get yourself ready and join us for this 6-week series starting January 4th. We are praying for God to do amazing things!

For more information, contact Mary Reed. 816-248-5087 or mjreedfamily76@gmail.com.
Timothy Connects invites fathers to join us on January 9th from 7–9 PM for Faith, Family, and Fatherhood—a meaningful evening rooted in Scripture, brotherhood, and encouragement.
This Bible study is designed to bring fathers together in a supportive community, helping each other grow in their walk with God while strengthening the foundations of family life.
We will begin a short study on the blessings of womanhood. Who does our Heavenly Father say we are? What are we called to do as women, wives’, mothers and grandmothers?
We will meet January 8, 22nd, February 5 and 19th at 7 PM in the library.
Women of all ages let’s come together to support each other, encourage one another and grow in faith together.
For information or have any questions call Debbie at 913-558-0995.
Thank you so much for your consistent support of my theological training. I am excited, grateful, and deeply blessed to share that I will be completing my time at my current seminary with a Graduate Certificate in Christian Ministry and transferring to Metro Atlanta Seminary to pursue my MDiv.
I finished my studies there by completing the foundations of Biblical Greek. Learning a new language was a tremendous amount of work, but I am already seeing the fruit as I begin to study and interpret Scripture in its original language.
I’m also thrilled to hear that your prayers have been answered with the calling of a new lead pastor to Timothy. I continue to pray for your leadership and your community. May God continue to use your church to be a shining light of hope, grounded in the truth of Jesus Christ.

Here’s an encounter with the glorious God we can’t pass by although we might want to. Here in this vision Amos, the prophet experiences the glory of God as judge. It’s a heavy scene of devastation and destruction. Yet even in this truth we find hope.
This Advent season, we invite you to behold the radiant glory of God as it breaks into our world and hearts. In this series, The Glory of the Lord, we will explore how God's glory reveals His promises, His power, His plans, His perfection, His uniqueness, His judgment, His identity, and even our calling. Thank you to the 103 members who signed in for last Sunday’s Voters’ Assembly meeting! Your participation is vital to the life and mission of Timothy Lutheran Church.
During the meeting, the Assembly: ✅ Approved the proposed slate of lay leaders ✅ Confirmed MO District Convention lay delegates ✅ Adopted the 2026 operating budget
(If you are wanting a copy of the approved budget, please email maryt@timothylutheran.com)
Leadership Update: During the election, the office of President remains vacant as no candidate was nominated or elected. In accordance with Article B 4(F) of our Constitution and Bylaws, the Executive Board is authorized to appoint a successor to fill vacancies.
At its January meeting, the Board will appoint Joe Sauter, who has been (or will be) duly reelected as Treasurer, to serve as Interim President for six months. This appointment ensures continuity of leadership while the Nominating Committee continues to seek a permanent candidate.
At the end of the six-month period, the Board will revisit the appointment:
If Joe continues as President, a new Treasurer will be appointed.
If Joe resumes full-time Treasurer duties, a new Interim President will be appointed.
Regular communications will keep the congregation informed of progress.
Thank you for your commitment to supporting God’s work through Timothy Lutheran. Together, we continue to share Christ’s love in our community and beyond!

Kendall and I are so excited to join into ministry with you at Timothy Ministries. We have felt so welcomed and supported by your friendly greetings and gifts of support. Thank you for including us in your prayers; they are powerful. May your family ties be strengthened and your faith flourish during this Advent season.
This Christmas season, our church family came together in an incredible way to share love and hope through the Giving Tree ministry. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to make a meaningful impact in our community:
Over 100 gifts were collected for 8 families served by LUMA, ensuring each family experienced the joy of Christmas.
A barrel full of gifts—and another barrel’s worth surrounding it— provided blessings for Blue Springs residents through CSL’s Christmas Shop.
9 gifts were donated to support a Hillcrest resident and his daughter, bringing comfort and cheer.
Additionally, 14 gift cards were given to Hillcrest to assist individuals and families struggling with homelessness.
Your kindness has touched lives in ways that go beyond the holiday season. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ in our community!
Celebrate the joy of Christ’s birth with us this Christmas season! We invite you and your family to join us for one or more of our four worship services.
Come experience meaningful worship, beautiful music, and the warmth of our church family as we rejoice in the greatest gift of all—Jesus Christ.

Isaiah’s ministry starts in quite a startling way as he is given a vision into the throne room of God. Yet Isaiah recognizes just how unworthy and sinful he is. So, what does the Sovereign and Holy God do with people fractured by sin? He doesn’t throw us away! Our perfect God speaks a perfect Word over us!

Ryan Kuecker was baptized at Timothy Lutheran Church on September 11, 1983, and has been an active member ever since. He currently serves as an elected elder, is a member of the Grow Commission, has volunteered in leading the senior high youth for over 16 years, and coaches the Timothy Lutheran School soccer team.
Outside of his service to Timothy, Ryan has worked in the insurance industry for 17 years and is currently an independent agent with ASI in Grain Valley. He has been married to his wife, Kate Kuecker, for three years and is a proud stepfather to two amazing children, Samantha and Isaac.
Ryan is a fan of Star Wars and all things nerdy. He enjoys playing disc golf as a weekend warrior, takes pride in his lawn care as an amateur specialist, and dreams of the day Jeff Probst calls him to be a contestant on Survivor.
What an incredible evening we shared at this year’s Trivia Night! Laughter filled the room, friendly competition brought out everyone’s best, and the joy of being together reminded us once again how richly God blesses our Timothy Lutheran School community.
Because of the generosity of our families, friends, staff, and sponsors, we are thrilled to announce that Trivia Night raised a total of $3,564.55. Every dollar of this will go directly to our TLS Scholarship Fund, helping ensure that more students can experience a Christ-centered education, an investment that impacts hearts, minds, and futures.
Events like this aren’t just about funds; they are about fellowship. Scripture reminds us in 1 Thessalonians 5:11 to “encourage one another and build each other up,” and that’s exactly what this night represented. From those who planned and decorated, to those who attended, donated, volunteered, sponsored, or simply prayed over the event, thank you. Your time and support reflect the hands and feet of Christ in action.
We are deeply grateful for this community and for the way God continues to work through each of you. Thank you for making Trivia Night a success, for supporting our students, and for helping us strengthen the mission of Timothy Lutheran School.
A heartfelt thank you to our Timothy congregation for making the LWML Nuts and Candy Drive a wonderful success! Your generosity and support truly make a difference, and we couldn’t have done it without you. Because of your participation, proceeds from this drive will go toward LWML Mites and Timothy’s Emergency Assistance Fund, helping us continue to serve others and share Christ’s love in meaningful ways.Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus in action. Your kindness and commitment strengthen our mission and bless our community!
Timothy Lutheran School’s PTL along with the Festival Committee invite you and your family to step into the heart of the Christmas story at our upcoming Breakfast in Bethlehem event tomorrow Saturday, December 6th from 9:00–11:00am.

Children will receive a “passport” to collect stamps along the way, meeting familiar figures from the Nativity story and discovering the wonder, promise, and joy of our Savior’s arrival.
At the end of their journey, each child will receive a special keepsake gift to remember the morning.

When God shows up in a burning bush, Moses freaks out a little bit. But God doesn’t simply come to startle Moses but to assure him and all Israel, that He sees their suffering, and has a plan of salvation in motion.
Tonight, we invite you to gather with your Timothy family for a meaningful evening of worship, reflection, and thanksgiving. Together, we’ll pause to recognize God’s faithfulness and explore how we can cultivate a spirit of gratitude in every season of life.
This year’s special offering will support Timothy’s Emergency Assistance Fund, providing help for urgent needs within our community.
Come as you are and join us as we give thanks—together.

Last Friday, Timothy Lutheran welcomed former Care Minister Nancy Nowiszewski as the guest speaker for the Women of Hope event, “An Evening of Gratitude and Prayer.” Nancy shared heartfelt stories of how God placed her in unique situations to remind her—and all of us—that with Him, our cups are always “half full” and His plan should be our plan.
The evening was filled with fellowship and warmth as attendees enjoyed hot cider and delicious fall desserts. Many ladies brought friends, making the event a beautiful opportunity to connect, reflect, and celebrate God’s goodness together.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening of encouragement and prayer!

Use your IRA to support Timothy’s mission and ministries.
Reduce taxes on your required distributions.
Make charitable giving simpler and more impactful.
Even if you’re not yet at this stage of life, come and learn valuable information for future planning and faithful stewardship.

Timothy Lutheran School’s PTL along with the Festival Committee invite you and your family to step into the heart of the Christmas story at our upcoming Breakfast in Bethlehem event on Saturday, December 6th from 9:00–11:00am.
This special morning begins with a warm and delicious pancake and sausage breakfast. A free-will offering will be accepted (suggested donation of $5 per person), with all proceeds supporting ongoing campus safety improvements at TLS.
After breakfast, families are invited to travel through Bethlehem, visiting interactive stations that bring the story of Jesus’ birth to life. Children will receive a “passport” to collect stamps along the way, meeting familiar figures from the Nativity story and discovering the wonder, promise, and joy of our Savior’s arrival.
At the end of their journey, each child will receive a special keepsake gift to remember the morning.
This event is designed for all ages and open to the entire congregation and community. Whether you are bringing children, grandchildren, neighbors, or simply wish to take a peaceful walk through the story of Christmas yourself, we hope you’ll join us for this meaningful and family-friendly celebration.
Gluten-free options will be available.
Come share breakfast, fellowship, and the true joy of Christmas as we journey to Bethlehem together!
On Sunday December 14th we will again worship in a single service at 10:00am and experience the Musical Cantata: A Promise Kept: The Blessing of Christmas by Marty Parks. This service will be followed by a cookie reception coordinated by the Gather Commission.
This Christmas musical tells how God's promises are fulfilled through the baby in the manger. Celebrating this promise - beginning with the humblest circumstances and turning all into glory - are selections that range from traditional carols to ballads to festive arrangements. Our Timothy Choir is working hard to bring an enjoyable worship with the message of Christmas through song. I pray you can join us on Sunday December 14th at 10:00 as we worship as one Timothy Family.
