Sardis appeared alive but was spiritually dead. This message calls us to self-examination, repentance, and renewal—awakening to the vibrant life Christ offers to all who follow Him.
Join us the this Wednesday March 18th as Timothy Lutheran School serves pulled pork and side. Dinner served at 6:00 pm and service starts at 6:30 pm.
Worship service theme: Who Knows??
The people of Nineveh don’t simply carry on with their sin. They fear God and they pursue repentance and even make their animals participate. But they are left with a huge uncertainty...Does God care enough to relent? Who knows? Tonight, we find out what kind of God this is.
There are seasons when settling feels safe—even necessary. But Lent invites us to ask deeper questions: Have we settled for “good enough” in our walk with Christ and in the life of the church? Have we grown comfortable with our strengths while ignoring the areas where we struggle or cling to sin?
This Lenten series challenges us to move beyond complacency. Through the lens of Jesus’ messages to the seven churches in Revelation, we’ll hear His words of affirmation, correction, and encouragement. Each week, we’ll examine what it means to pursue Jesus wholeheartedly—not just in the areas we excel, but especially in the places we’ve settled.
Let’s allow this season to stir us, refine us, and call us to a deeper, more faithful pursuit of Christ—one that refuses to settle for “good enough.”
Laodicea was comfortable but spiritually lukewarm. Jesus calls us to wholehearted devotion, accepting His gentle correction and walking with zeal as His followers.
This Easter, we will wrap up our series on the 7 churches in Revelation by looking at Revelation 1:4–8 and hear the risen Christ proclaim, “I am the Living One.” Discover how His victory brings grace, peace, and unshakeable hope in a world hungry for good news. Join us as we celebrate the Savior who was dead and now lives forever.

This February, our homebound members were reminded once again just how deeply they are loved by their church family.
This Valentine’s season brought an outpouring of love, creativity, and connection to our homebound members—all thanks to the beautiful partnership between our Care Ministry, our amazing youth, and the elders.
The Care Ministry prepared the Valentine goodie bags, each one filled with treats that brightened the day of every recipient. Many of our homebound members shared how deeply touched they were by the surprise and how meaningful it felt to be remembered in such a special way.
One of the biggest hits of the delivery? The cozy tied fleece hats lovingly crafted by our youth. Each hat, tied by hand, was unique—colorful, soft, and made with care. Our homebound members didn’t just appreciate them… they had fun with them! The elders were able to capture photos of a few members modeling their new hats with big smiles. The hats warmed more than their heads—they warmed their hearts. The cards, filled with cheerful drawings and uplifting messages, were treasured just as much.
The collaboration between our youth and Care Ministry beautifully demonstrated what happens when different parts of the church come together in service: love multiplies, connections strengthen, and God’s joy shines through.
This year’s Valentine outreach didn’t just deliver gifts—it delivered warmth, community, and the reminder that no one in our congregation is forgotten.

Jonah finally arrives at Nineveh. But he seemingly brings a simplistic and discouraging message. Notice there’s no gospel only law. Yet the law does what the law is intended to do, to kill that His grace might make us alive.

Thanks to the amazing support of our families, church members, sponsors, donors, and volunteers, the evening was a tremendous success. Together, we raised a record-breaking $43,000 to support student scholarships and the mission of Timothy Lutheran School.
From the silent auction to lively bidding and table competition, it was inspiring to see our community rally around a shared purpose, helping make a Timothy education possible for more students.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, or volunteered. Your generosity truly reflects the spirit of our Timothy family and helps continue our mission of transforming lives through Christ.

Surrounded by compromise and false teaching, the church of Pergamum faced pressure to conform. Jesus calls them—and us—to remain faithful, hold fast to His Word, and stand firm in the truth. Things have gotten dicey. While the fish swallowing the man is the part we are familiar with the reflections of Jonah often go unnoticed. Yet Jonah’s words are filled with deep theology and divine truths. Jonah pleads for God to set the captive free. It just so happens God is in that business.

As we begin our series we catch a glimpse with John of the glorified Christ—majestic, radiant, and holding the keys of life and death. Jesus is both awe-inspiring and deeply personal, walking among the seven churches, watching, warning, and guiding them. This passage sets the stage for our new series on the seven churches, where we’ll explore Christ’s words to each church.

There’s only one way to calm the storm and that is to throw Jonah into the water. They tried countless other tactics, but nothing worked. There was only one option and that is to sacrifice Jonah. The same remains true. The only way out of our pit and despair is via a sacrifice but not ours...

You’ve heard the story since you were a little kid. Some may even have called it a tall tale. A man who was swallowed by a whale and then spit out again. Is that even possible? But here’s the thing, the Scriptures aren’t tall tales, they are accounts of God’s mighty work in a crazy world contorted by sin. And the book of Jonah is far more than a whale and a dude that smells fishy. The book of Jonah is a book that teaches us a whole lot about this thing called repentance. So, what better book to lead us this lent in our midweek time as we dine with Jesus. Join us.

Let’s be honest—some days, “going to church” can feel like a chore. But Jesus doesn’t call us into the church to keep us busy or under control. He calls us because we need one another. In the church, we receive God’s eternal gifts, and it’s among His people that we share and grow in them together.

This special week is a time to give thanks for the gift of Lutheran education and to rejoice in the ways our students learn, grow, and share God’s love every day.
To kick off the celebration, our students will be singing at both worship services on Sunday, January 25th. We can’t wait to hear their voices lifted in praise!
Throughout the week, we have a variety of fun activities planned for our students and families. Be sure to stay connected to our website and Facebook page for updates and details so you don’t miss any of the excitement.
Let’s join together in celebrating the blessings of Lutheran education and the joy we have in Christ!

Last week, we explored what it means to have a meaningful relationship with Jesus. Like any relationship, it requires time, intentionality, and commitment to grow. Today, we’ll look at how we nurture that connection with Christ—and reflect on the distractions and challenges that often keep us from doing so.
Another New Year is on the horizon, and we have much to be thankful for including Pastor Kendall, Lynn and family joining us here at Timothy. Now we set our eyes on what the Lord is calling us to as Timothy Lutheran Ministries in 2026. As we have prayerfully considered and conversed, the Lord has placed us to center our attention on Revitalizing Relationships by Sharing Sacred Spaces. So, we are going to kick off 2026 inviting you to join us as we work toward deepening our relationships with Jesus, with one another, and with those outsides. We are going to be challenged, exhorted, and encouraged in the year ahead. We are praying for God to do amazing things!

This week, Gary Flandermeyer delivered approximately 300 pounds of food donations from Timothy to the Blue Springs Community Services League. These items, generously provided by our church family throughout December, will help meet urgent needs in our community.
The Community Services League team expressed deep gratitude for these badly needed supplies, which will make a real difference for local families. Thank you, Timothy, for sharing Christ’s love in such a tangible way!
In 2026 GROW Commission will focus on revitalizing small group ministry, with the goal of connecting all of us with God's Word and each other. Several members have already stepped forward to lead new small groups, but several more are still needed. Leaders don't have to be Biblical experts, but will guide or facilitate a group of 10-14 as you study God's Word together. Leaders may host their group, but may also work with another person who's willing to host but doesn't want to facilitate.
Materials will be available and an orientation/training meeting will be held in January. Groups will form in February and begin meeting in March.
Is God tugging at your heart to get involved? If so, don't hesitate to jump in!

We will begin a short study on the blessings of womanhood. Who does our Heavenly Father say we are? What are we called to do as women, wives’, mothers and grandmothers?
We will meet January 8, 22nd, February 5 and 19th at 7 PM in the library.
Women of all ages let’s come together to support each other, encourage one another and grow in faith together.
For information or have any questions call Debbie at 913-558-0995.
All 4th and 5th graders are invited to join us this Sunday, January 11 from 2-4p. In addition to our usual devotion/snack/hangout time, we will be making no-sew fleece hats and Valentine cards to send to our home-bound congregants. For questions or more information, contact Jessica at jessicay@timothylutheran.com
Life can get hectic, and we all need moments to pause, reconnect, and recharge. That’s why we’re excited to invite you to the next Oasis Family Night on Wednesday, January 14, from 6:00–7:30 PM!
This month, our Bible focus will be the powerful story of Jairus’ daughter (Matthew 9:18–26)—a beautiful reminder of Jesus’ compassion, His authority over every challenge, and the hope He brings even in moments that feel impossible. Families will explore this story together as we learn what it means to trust God amid life’s interruptions and uncertainties.
Oasis Family Night offers something meaningful for everyone:
A free meal and time to enjoy warm, relaxed fellowship
Faithbuilding activities for kids to grow, learn, and build friendships
An engaging night for confirmands as they continue their journey
A welcoming space for adults to dive into God’s Word and find encouragement
Oasis is all about creating a laid back environment where you can find renewal for your soul and reconnect with one another in the middle of a busy week.
RSVP today! Click the register here button or visit our website to register so we can plan for food. We can’t wait to share this evening of faith, fellowship, and renewal with you!
