First Reading: Isaiah 6:1-8 Gospel Reading: Luke 10:1-9
Christ gathers and equips us so that He can send us with His peace.
Churches naturally turn inward. Buildings, programs, traditions, and relationships can become comfortable enough that the congregation forgets the people beyond its doors. Mission then sounds like a special assignment for unusually gifted Christians rather than the ordinary calling of every baptized believer. Isaiah’s call corrects both pride and fear. He first sees God’s holiness, then confesses his sin, then receives cleansing, and only then says, “Here am I! Send me.” We do not go because we are impressed. We go as forgiven sinners carrying the mercy we have received. Two weeks after the World Vision Chosen emphasis, this message widens the lens. Chosen offered one concrete way to share Christ’s love across the world; Isaiah and Luke remind us that Christ also sends us into the ordinary places immediately around us. Timothy’s worship, school, Bible studies, and future spaces are not intended to keep people inside. They are meant to prepare and send disciples into homes, classrooms, workplaces, neighborhoods, and the wider world. The tension is between attraction and sending, between maintaining ministry for us and carrying Christ’s peace to others, and between waiting until we feel fully ready and trusting the One who sends us. Go is not a slogan placed at the end of a list. It is the outward movement of the Gospel. Christ gathers us, roots us in His Word, and gives us His gifts so that we may carry His peace wherever He has already placed us. The Vision Wall is not a trophy. It is a sending point. |

What an incredible weekend! The Festival Committee would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to every volunteer who gave their time, energy, and talents to make Timmy Burgers a success. From the many hours of preparation leading up to the festival to cooking, assembling, serving, cleaning, and everything in between, Timmy Burgers truly takes a team. We are incredibly blessed by the way our church and school community comes together year after year to serve alongside one another. Timmy Burgers is about more than serving a great burger. It is a wonderful example of who we are as Timothy Lutheran Church and School, a community rooted in Christ, working together with joy and purpose. Whether you volunteered for an hour or spent the entire weekend helping, you were an important part of making it all happen. The Festival Committee is deeply grateful to each person who stepped forward to serve. Your willingness to give of your time is a beautiful reflection of Timothy’s mission: Transforming Lives Through Christ. Thank you for serving, supporting, laughing, working hard, and showing our community what it means to be the family of Christ. We couldn’t do Timmy Burgers without you! |

Mark your calendars and join us for October Oasis on Wednesday, October 14, from 6:00-7:30 p.m. This month's theme is "God Provides for Us," based on 1 Kings 17:10-16, the inspiring account of God's provision through the widow of Zarephath. Together, we'll explore how God faithfully provides for His people and strengthens our trust in Him during every season of life. The evening begins with a meal at 6:00 p.m. and is open to all ages. Whether you're coming as an individual, a couple, or with your family, Oasis provides a wonderful opportunity to enjoy a meal, grow in faith, and connect with your Timothy family. Throughout the month of October, Timothy Lutheran Ministries will be collecting donations to support Hillcrest, a ministry dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome homelessness and build a stronger future through housing, education, and supportive services. To make giving easy, a donation cart will be available in the church lobby. Be sure to check the cart regularly for a list of Hillcrest's most needed items, as those needs may change throughout the month. Every donation, big or small, provides encouragement and practical assistance to those working toward stability and independence. As we remain Rooted in Christ (Colossians 2:6-7), we are blessed to share His love through acts of compassion and service. Thank you for your generosity and for partnering with Hillcrest to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our neighbors. Together, we can be Christ's hands and feet in our community. |
