The struggle to forgive often reveals how deeply we forget the mercy we have received.
Unforgiveness keeps us imprisoned in the very pain Christ came to free us from.

On Wednesday, April 15, students at Timothy Lutheran School took part in the Shine event, putting their faith into action through service. Preschoolers colored cards to include in care bags prepared by other students. Students in grades K–2 packed snack bags and created cards for children participating in a supervised custody exchange program through Hope House. Grades 3–5 packed food bags and made encouraging cards for those experiencing homelessness, benefiting Care Beyond the Blvd. Students in grades 6–8 tied fleece blankets for teens facing trauma, illness, or crisis for The Linus Project.
Also on Wednesday, approximately 60 Confirmation students and their Prayer Pals worked together to pack 200 sack lunches for the Metro Lutheran Ministry food pantry—a wonderful example of our young people serving the community.
On Thursday, April 16, sixteen volunteers served at Harvesters, sorting and packing carrots, oranges, potatoes, and apples.
Saturday morning, April 18, three adults and four children helped lead bingo at Ignite in Blue Springs. Later that day, two groups of six volunteers served locally at Restore on Highway 7. Saturday evening, 18 adults and two children packed 112 “Birthday in a Box” kits for Harvesters.
The week concluded on Sunday, April 19, with sixteen members of Timothy Lutheran Church and School serving at Ronald McDonald House. One group served dinner at Longfellow House, while another served at Wylie House. A pulled pork dinner prepared by Ken Holland was enjoyed by 100 guests.
It was an inspiring week of service, generosity, and faith in action.

Timothy Lutheran Church invites you to a special celebration of faith and commitment this Sunday for Confirmation Sunday, April 26th. During the 10:30 am worship service, we will joyfully witness and support our Confirmands as they publicly affirm their baptismal faith and take the next step in their spiritual journey. This year, we are proud to celebrate the following Confirmands: Talon Doering, Jace Moennig, Sam Force, Clar Emison, Jake Oyler, Avery Gregory, Annabelle Raimo, Lilly Heisel, Charley Green and Colton Brown.
Please join us for a time of worship and prayer as we affirm and encourage these young individuals in their faith journey and warmly welcome them into full participation in the life of our church. Gather Commission will be serving cake to the confirmands and their families after the 10:30 service. It will be a special morning filled with celebration, reflection, and community. |

As we look ahead to the coming school year, Timothy Lutheran School will have three School Board member terms concluding in May. In preparation, we are seeking three new individuals who are willing to prayerfully serve our school community by joining the Timothy Lutheran School Board.
Serving on the School Board is a meaningful way to support the mission and ministry of Timothy Lutheran School. Board members help guide long‑term vision, provide faithful leadership, and partner with administration to ensure Timothy remains a Christ‑centered place of academic excellence.
We encourage anyone with a heart for Christian education, a desire to serve, or an interest in leadership to consider this opportunity. Experience in education, finance, leadership, or strategic planning is a gift—but most important is a willingness to serve and support Timothy Lutheran School.
If you would like more information or would like to explore what serving on the School Board involves, please email: TLS_schoolboard@timothylutheran.com Please keep the School Board and this selection process in your prayers as we seek God’s guidance for the future of Timothy Lutheran School. |

Did you notice the VBS RainForest Falls donation board that went up in the lobby last week? We invite our Timothy family to help make VBS 2026: RainForest Falls – Exploring the Nature of God a joyful and meaningful experience through donations. One special way to support VBS this year is by choosing to Adopt a VBS Student. This option helps cover the cost of supplies and materials for a child attending VBS, ensuring every student can participate fully in this exciting week of learning and fun. Simply stop by the lobby, grab a donation tag, and return the requested item or contribution. Every donation, whether supplies or student support, plays an important role in bringing VBS to life. 🗓 All donations are due by June 1, unless other instructions are written on your specific tag. Please return you items with the tags attached. Thank you for your generosity, support, and continued investment in sharing God’s love with our children through VBS! |

Throughout April, Timothy Lutheran Church and School is partnering with Hillcrest Transitional Housing to bless families working hard to build stability and a fresh start. We invite our Timothy family to join us in supporting this important ministry through donations of household and hygiene essentials. A list of Hillcrest’s most-needed items can be found on the donation cart located in the foyer. Your generosity helps ensure that residents have the practical supplies they need as they work toward independence. Hygiene Kits for Hillcrest Families In addition to general donations, we are also collecting items for hygiene kits that will be distributed to families entering Hillcrest programs. A special thank‑you goes to Daryl and Becky Fowler for collecting, assembling, and delivering these kits on behalf of Timothy! |
