Home is the most incredible place to be. And I’m talking about the place of comfort, not necessarily the location. Today as we wrap up this Psalm, we hear David proclaim his desire is to be home with the Lord and nothing could beat that. Yet we also recognize, as sheep, we aren’t super skilled at navigating how to get home. And to be honest sometimes we can be found declaring “I never want to go home!” No matter the situation, the Shepherd acts just as we have seen over the past few weeks. So how will the Shepherd bring home sheep? Come gather with the flock and find out. |

We all know Psalm 23. It’s a passage that’s been committed to memory by countless people, a passage that brings comfort in times of sorrow, and a refrain often heard at funerals. But is this beloved Psalm just for the dying or those in grief? Or is it for us today, in every circumstance of our lives? September 7th - October 12th, we will explore Psalm 23 and discover how it speaks to us and our lives with Christ. This Psalm isn't just about comfort in our final moments; it’s about finding comfort and guidance in our daily lives. Join us as we take a deep dive into this beloved Psalm and develop a greater understanding of what it truly means to walk with Jesus, our Good Shepherd. |

Have you ever wondered what drives the LWML mission? What is the fuel behind every quilt tied, every missionary supported, and every act of compassion shown? It all goes back to a final, powerful command from our risen Lord. On the day of His Ascension, Jesus gave His followers their assignment. We read it in Luke, chapter 24: "Go... proclaim repentance and forgiveness of sins in His name to all nations." This command is the very heartbeat of the church, and it is the central theme for this Lutheran Women in Mission Sunday. The work they celebrate isn't just about charity; it's about proclamation. It is the life-changing message of forgiveness in Jesus' name that motivates us to serve and to GO. All glory be to Jesus! |

This October, we have the special opportunity to celebrate and give thanks to the Called Staff who faithfully serve Timothy. Their commitment to ministry, teaching, and leadership blesses our congregation in countless ways.
We encourage everyone to keep our Called Staff in your prayers throughout the month and to share words of encouragement and gratitude.A heartfelt note, kind message, or simple “thank you” can make a meaningful impact.
Let’s come together as a church family to honor their service and dedication. May our appreciation reflect the love of Christ and remind them how deeply valued they are. |

Are you ready to start your day with purpose? JourneyMen invites you to join a new Bible study through the Book of James beginning Tuesday, October 21, from 6:30–7:30 a.m. We’ll gather at Royal Biscuit in Blue Springs at 15th and 40 Highway, where you can enjoy breakfast and coffee while diving into Scripture.
This study is open to all men who desire to grow stronger in their faith and deepen their relationship with Jesus. James challenges us to live out our faith with wisdom, perseverance, and integrity—truths every man need for daily life. |

Whether you’re a regular in Bible study or just getting started, this is an opportunity to build meaningful connections and start your mornings with encouragement. Bring a friend, come hungry for the Word (and maybe for biscuits and gravy), and discover how God’s Word can reshape your walk.

Doug Hick has been a member of the Executive Board for 4 years. He and his wife Margaret, who will be married 38 years this December, came back to Timothy after being at Messiah while their three kids attended the grade school. They had previously been members of Timothy for about 10 years beginning in 1995. Doug and Margaret live in Lee’s Summit and their 3 children are all grown, all living in the KC area. They have two grandsons - a one year old and a one month old. Doug is an attorney and Margaret works part-time at St. Luke’s East as a newborn hearing screener. Doug grew up in St. Louis and ironically, went to the same grade school and high school as Pastor Ryan and Pastor Kendall. Margaret grew up in Independence. He and Margaret met at Mizzou and started their life after college in Raytown. They enjoy spending time with their kids and grand-kids, two dogs, boating and enjoying their season tickets to Mizzou football. Doug and Margaret have both been very active in the churches they have been at as well as at Messiah Lutheran School. Margaret currently serves on the Grow Commission and she and Doug have been Prayer Pals for several years. |

Doug and Margaret are very excited about what is happening at Timothy. They attend the 9:00 service and believe Timothy is on a path of growing all ministries so that all can experience the joy and peace that come with walking with Christ on a daily basis. |

Prayer Pal Meet & Munch Success
On Wednesday, October 1st, Prayer Pals gathered with their Confirmation Students for a “Meet & Munch” event. The Prayer Pal program matches an adult member of the congregation with a 5th, 6th, 7th, or 8th grader. The hope is to help the middle school youth to develop friendships with adult mentors in the congregation. This was the first meeting for some of the pairings and for others it was simply a time to catch up on what new is happening in each other’s lives. 70 in attendance enjoyed good conversation and yummy snacks. |
