As We Gather For Worship This Weekend

THEME: The Next Generation: …through Christ

CREATIVE TENSION: When we speak of transforming lives, it’s important to remember where the power to do that comes from. It’s not from ourselves. It’s not from our good intentions. It’s not something that we generate on our own. Instead, this transformation of lives comes from and through Christ. He is the one who does the work through our efforts. And so we dedicate ourselves, both as individuals and as a congregation, to His wisdom and guidance, trusting that He will guide us to decisions that are pleasing to Him.

Join us for our final online FaithRoots this week. We begin in-person FaithRoots on Sunday mornings starting in August! See you there.

Ordination Service This Sunday

Don’t forget to join your Timothy family in witnessing and celebrating Jake Bellinghausen’s ordination this Sunday at 6pm in the sanctuary. We look forward to a powerful service of inspiring music by Timothy’s music ministry, Pastor Lieb’s heartfelt message, Pastor John’s ordination ceremony, and blessings offered by visiting pastors. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall for Timothy to congratulate Jake and his family.

Paycheck Protection Program Update

We praise God for wonderful news from Commerce Bank about Timothy’s status with loan forgiveness from the Small Business Administration (SBA) for our PPP loan! On Tuesday, June 22, we learned that this loan is totally and fully forgiven!

As reported in April 2020, Timothy applied for the PPP loan in the amount of $272,400 to assist with payroll checks for eight weeks to furloughed employees, mortgage interest, and utility costs at the outset of the pandemic.  Through the hard work of Treasurer Gary Flandermeyer, Financial Services Chris Krenz, and Trevor Westcott at Commerce Bank, Timothy’s loan was properly completed by the deadline, approved by Commerce Bank, and then sent to SBA for approval.

This financial assistance was greatly appreciated as the church began transitioning and adjusting to the effects of the pandemic. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!

Adopt-a-Light

Thank you, Timothy, for early donations to improve lighting in RD Mize rooms! The new LED kits will be installed soon in the areas most occupied with VBS activities next month. Donations of $75 per kit are greatly appreciated! Facilities Manager Don McGhee researched costs to purchase & install the “old system” ballasts & lamps and costs to purchase & install “new system” LED lights, learning that the figures are almost a “wash” which doesn’t include energy efficiency & cost savings in the future.

Worshippers will receive a special envelope for this fundraiser with the bulletin this Sunday, and donations can also be accepted on Timothy’s website (www.timothylutheran.com). Go to Timothy’s home page and click on the Adopt-a-Light image.  Thank you very much!

Next Generation Updates

Timothy’s leadership, after meeting with Lutheran Church Extension Fund (LCEF) representatives on June 14, agreed to extend our current relationship with LCEF in a new capital campaign. Leadership will begin planning with LCEF to propel God’s Kingdom forward in our midst.

The Construction Task Force, chaired by Gary Flandermeyer, prepared final Request for Proposal (RFP) documents which were emailed this Wed., June 23, to four interested architectural firms for master plan services. An opportunity for the architect reps to review scope of work, observe site conditions, and ask questions will be available at 10am next Wed., June 30. Bids are due by 5pm on July 9, 2021. You can access the Request for Proposal on Timothy’s website on the Next Generation page. Leadership will keep you updated as the process moves along. Please keep the Next Generation process in your prayers as we seek God’s will to extend Timothy’s ministries.
