Duties/Responsibilities: Serve on one of a variety of teams that maintains the Timothy apartment at Hillcrest Transitional Housing in Lee’s Summit; provide support to our residents, through encouraging cards, gift cards and meals
Ministry Area: One-to-One Care Ministry
Lay Leader: Mary Reed
Approximate time commitment per week: 6-8 hours prior to blood drive; 12 hours during event weekend
Related Skills/Gifts: Ability to plan annual theme; communicate with Community Blood Center representative the plans for the event day; determine needs of CBC; plan/prepare complimentary lunch and any gifts given to participants (t-shirts); obtain funds for sponsorship (Thrivent grant)
Duties/Responsibilities: Plan event with Care Minister and CBC rep 2 months in advance; secure funding from Thrivent; select theme and work to include it on give-away t-shirt and printed promotion pieces; determine lunch menu and purchase ingredients, then prepare; email previous blood drive participants and friends to encourage them to sign up to give blood; work with Care Minister to promote event to Timothy family and the community; set up display of Adam’s photos and blood drive t-shirts in lunch area; set up Timothy’s check-in table with list of registered donors and photos of Adam; be present throughout the day of the event to make sure donors’ needs are met (lunch, prizes, t-shirts)

Duties/Responsibilities: Prepare planning schedule; recruit volunteers for each area of job duties; determine public organizations that will participate and maintain communication with them until event date; plan event space and include needs of each organization; publicize event in the community; plan and implement program sequence (speakers); prepare event printed program; provide thank-you item for participating organizations

Duties/Responsibilities: Following instructions, underline 10-12 Scripture verses in paperback New Testaments given to community individuals who come to Timothy for financial assistance; print instructions at the bottom of each page; attach labels with additional information

Duties/Responsibilities: Sign cards from Timothy’s Care Ministry, address envelopes for members who were included in bulletin/congregational email prayers and mail cards (postage provided by Timothy)

Approximate time commitment: 3 hours on the second Sunday in December
Related Skills/Gifts: Organize gifts according to family/organization; check off on list provided the gifts that are returned that day; place gifts in bags for each family/organization
Duties/Responsibilities: As gifts are brought to the gathering area (Family Life Center), check off the gifts on the list of all gifts needed; place gifts in bags by family/organization for delivery; make note of missing gifts; repair any wrapping paper if needed for those gifts that require wrapping
Needed: A volunteer to work with the lay leader as needed the second Sun. in Dec.

Duties/Responsibilities: Maintain records of relatives’ deaths of Timothy members; mail GriefShare letter invitation to all; for deaths of close relatives, send 4-part booklet series addressing the grieving process with spiritual support
Needed: A volunteer to work with the lay leader as needed throughout the year.

Duties/Responsibilities: Make calls on behalf of Timothy’s Care Ministry to determine any needs of the member (physical, spiritual) and to provide caring support, especially if the member is unable to attend worship and/or is homebound. Will offer prayer support through the prayer chain, congregational prayers and the support of a Stephen Minister.

Approximate time commitment per week: 2.5 hours classroom time plus study time; once trained, 1-2 hours for meeting with care receiver; monthly reporting and ongoing education session

Duties/Responsibilities: to meet weekly with assigned care receivers and pray for them daily, prepare for and participate in small group peer supervision and continuing education; stay connected to Jesus through personal Bible study and prayer time; serve as part of a larger team, honoring and praying for my fellow Stephen Ministers, Stephen Leaders and pastors.

Duties/Responsibilities: to build awareness of Timothy’s Stephen Ministry, solicit the commitment of our congregation to Stephen Ministry at every opportunity; to recruit, select and train Stephen Ministers at Timothy; use resources of our community to enrich the training and ongoing supervision of Stephen Ministry at Timothy; work with the Care Minister to identify members who could benefit from this confidential caring ministry; as needed, assign a trained caregiver who most appropriately fits a person’s need; supervise these caring relationships for continuing growth in the skills and practice of caring ministry.
