Psalm 30:10-12 [NIV] | 10 Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help.” 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.

Sometimes our circumstances and the hurts of life can leave us breathlessly grieving or in overwhelming pain. We have hit the wall; and it seems like there is no way out. Earthly hope vanishes into thin air. It is at that moment God comes through; his mercy and grace turn our tears and sorrows into laughter, and cries into song. Only God can carry us through the times when life seems hopeless.

We cry out to God seeking his mercy during the storms of life and he hears us. When we do not know the words to say, God’s Holy Spirit intercedes for us on our behalf. God knows and fully understands the desires of our hearts. We, on the other hand, cannot comprehend or begin to discern the mind of God and his ways. We question whether he is present and wonder if he cares. His Word reminds us, “8 ‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,'” declares the Lord (Isaiah 55:8-9).

Our secure hope comes though the blood of Jesus, our Savior. Jesus did not just die, he rose from the dead. We live our lives today in Christ knowing that this place, this time, is only for a moment. In Jesus we have the gift of eternal life in him; the victory is won.  Jesus’ life is the example for those who believe and put their trust in him.  Without Christ’s resurrection all would be without hope. The life, death, and resurrection of Christ gives us hope and confidence to cling to his outstretched arms. We need not doubt if God is listening or responding, he already has us wrapped tightly in his care.

Prayer:
Lord, there are time it feels you are not listening or responding to our cries of help. Help us to put our trust in you with confidence your ways are much higher than ours. Cloth us with your joy and turn our sorrows into praise. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Action Plan:
Today I will cast my burdens on Jesus and seek his will to be done.
