Music Groups Starting Up- Timothy’s Adult and Children’s music groups are gearing up for the coming season. Here are the start-up dates we know so far:

- Children’s Choir [K-5] – Wed., Sept. 1st at 6:00 – 6:30 [north]
- Kid’s Praise Team[5th-8th] – Wed., Sept. 8th at 6:00 – 6:30[north]
- Little Lambs [pre-K] – Wed., Sept. 1st during midweek class [north]
- LYFe-Lights- Sunday, Sept. 12th at 12:30 – 2:00 [south]
CHILDREN and FAMILY MINISTRY OPPORTUNITIES THIS FALL!
CrossWalk is moving to Wednesday nights beginning Sept. 1st! This program will now be held Wednesday evenings, 6:30pm-8:00pm in the Family Life Center at the North Campus! This is a fun and inter-active program for children ages 4 years old – 5th grade to equip them to become better disciples of Jesus!
The Rock is coming to Sunday mornings beginning Sept. 12th! This is a program for ALL ages of people to come, learn, and grow together as a faith family! It will be held 9:15am-10:30am at the North Campus in the Fellowship Hall and 10:45am-12:00pm at the South Campus in Room 1206. For more information contact Lydia Wilcke, Children’s Minister.
September 10-12 - JOURNEYMEN RETREAT AT HEIT'S POINT
Join us as we "Break Away" from the daily grunge of life giving intentional time for God, fellowship and fun. You have the option of staying Friday night or Friday and Saturday nights. SEPTEMBER 12 - JESUS EL BUEN LUTHERAN CHURCH VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION SUNDAY
Volunteer Appreciation Sunday! Calling All Volunteers! On Sunday, September 12, 2010 a special Volunteer Appreciation Service will be held at Jesus El Buen Pastor (Jesus the Good Shepherd) Lutheran Church at our regular worship time (11:00 AM). More than 150 volunteers from throughout the Kansas City area (and beyond)representing over 3,500 hours of volunteer work, were involved in the remodeling of the “Mercier Building”, which is now the new home of Jesus el Buen Pastor Lutheran Church! We are inviting everyone who volunteered to attend this special service of thanksgiving and recognition. A celebration meal, prepared by the women of our congregation, will be served following the service. In addition, the women of the congregation will again be offering their popular handmade burritos for sale.
SEPTEMBER 17-19 -TIMOTHY STEAKBURGER BOOTH - the world famous 1/2 pound Timothy Steakburger. That’s right, it is that time of year again and the Timothy Steakburger Committee has been hard at work preparing for this year’s Blue Springs Fall Fun Festival. The dates for the festival are September 17, 18, & 19. Volunteer signup starts August 14th in the church foyer.
SEPTEMBER 25 - "I Am His" GIRL'S MINI RETREAT
On Saturday, September 25th 9am-3pm Timothy South Campus, all girls grades 6-12 are invited to this special event which will feature speakers, fun activities, lunch as well as shopping opportunities. OCTOBER 9th - REAL WORLD PARENTS SEMINAR - 9am-12pm in the Family Life Center
Real World Parents is a 3 hour seminar designed to give parents Biblical principles and practical tools to help navigate the complex issues we face in trying to raise Godly children. It is for Christian parents with children of any age, no matter where there family is on their spiritual journey.
Cost is $10 (workbook included).

OCTOBER 10-16 ADULT GULF COAST MISSION TRIP - GulfPort, MS
Thrivent Financial is sponsoring 28 home builds in the areas devastated by hurricane Katrina. We will be working with members of other congregations from around the country and coordinating locally with Pointe of Hope Lutheran Church. The work week will be from Tuesday-Friday and will include time to sample local restaurants and visit the Katrina memorial. Cost is $370 and includes transportation as well as food and lodging while at the Volunteer center. $200 Scholarship are available for Thrivent Members. NOVEMBER 5 & 6 - WOMEN OF FAITH CONFERENCE--Over half of the 100 reserved spots for the Nov. 5 & 6 Women of Faith Conference at the KC Sprint Center were taken with the first weekend of sign-ups!
